This product is undoubtedly the best in the market in it's class! Your microphone arsenal and pre-amps wont be complete without this bad boy. Add this piece in your recording chain will promote high quality pristine audio.
You can get amazing clarity out of your vocals, and/or instruments. Symphonic instruments sounds beautifully detailed; especially 192k high resolution. If money is not a dilemma, you can stack multiple units for an enormous epic scoring projects. Such as, Skywalker Sound using this product while recording an orchestral composition for a battle scene in Star Wars.
The internal AD/DA conversion is controlled by a powerful quartz word-clock source. With the selectable sample rate and bit-dept, makes it easy to digitize and sync multiple analog signals with your recording software. Moreover, this item can be used as a master clocking source for other devices to slave to.
For you mastering engineers, this is a excellent tool to use in the last stage of your processes. If you like to bounce your final mix to an external two track recorder, you can use this tool to put the finishing HD touch on your masterpiece!
Overall, the only unit that comes closest to the Rosetta 800 is the Digidesign 192 I/O. Although the conversion quality is "neck-to-neck,"the Apogee has proven itself to be the king in this market.

A wise audio man told me this. He was right you know. Once I connected my preamps into the Rosetta 800. It was clear what I was missing. For some reason I knew I was not getting the max from my expensive preamps............now I am. Still the Sweetwater difference tipped the balance for me. Thank you Steve Di maggio and Dave Klausner for pointing me in the right direction. Note: Go to page 8 for the details on calibration.

i was looking for extra channels on my existing rig and also looking for that next level of quality. i decided to demo the rosetta but looking at the price i told myself,"this is going to have to be some unit for me to pay that." the demo took about 3 min of playing to be sold on it. after a- b'ing it with the stock converters on my 002 i couldn't give the unit back. suddenly i heard all those characteristics in my pre amps that i've heard people talk about but never really noticed myself. i bought a lot of high end mics and pres prior to this unit but only fully head them after the rosetta. if you have already good gear, don't cut out the middle man. the conversion is so important
Well worth the money.

I went from a Mackie 400f, which is in no way a bad unit, to a Rosetta 800. The difference was profound. I realize that this converter is not cheap - however, the results are incredible. I'm not sorry I purchased it and will add more units in the future as my need (and budget) for simultaneous channels increase.

These are the best converters ever made. 90% of the songs you hear on the radio is done with apogee converters. As soon as i hooked my genelecs up to these babys i was in awwww. Excellent detail,no color, what you hear is what you get. Def one of the best hifi investments i ever made. If you wanna have that big commercial sound def check out the rosetta 800.
