From Our Research Team:Mesa's Legendary Amp Head Gets Even Better!Plug into a Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier 3-channel tube amplifier head and you're in for the kind of massive tone you've only dreamed of - until now! This all-tube, 100-watt firebreather one-ups its predecessors, adding a third channel to an already legendary amp. Now you can dial in that great chunky rhythm tones to make your tonal palette complete. As always, the Dual Rectifier is capable of the most mammoth metal tones out there, but now its even more versatile. Experience the pure power of a legend for yourself - play through a Dual Rectifier! It all started in the early '70s, when Boogie introduced the groundbreaking Mark series. Since the early '70s. These amps became famous for their gobs of overdrive and liquid sustain, making them sing through solos. When all this thick gain was combined with Mesa's onboard 5-band graphic EQ, lethal crunch was the result, and it propelled both players and Mesa into the spotlight for the last two decades. Not content to rest on their laurels (or anyone else's), the folks at Mesa sought a combination of the Boogie's creamy tone and a huge low end that could track faster and stay tight even under the most extreme settings. Their quest for the best of both worlds resulted in the benchmark Dual and Triple Rectifier heads. Years later, the patented Dual Rectifier series amplifiers continue to blow away crowds and players alike. The 1990s brought new amps to Mesa's lineup that were built to appeal to lower-gain playing styles, and these amps definitely found their share devotees. Yet with appearances on hundreds of hit recordings and thousands of loyal players singing (and playing) their praises, the Dual and Triple heads remain the mainstays of the Rectifier phenomenon. How could Mesa possibly improve on such an amazing amp? They added another channel! These 3-channel monsters unleash all the punishing gain found in the original Recto's two channels - and add a powerful third channel dedicated to rhythm sounds. The high gain lead channels now each have an additional mode dubbed RAW that provdes gain levels below that of the original Vintage mode. RAW's touch-sensitive response lets you explore the heavier side of blues on up to classic rock, revealing the soulful nature of this amazing tube-rectified power section. MULTI-WATT mode also lets you switch each channel from 100-watt mode to 50-watt mode, giving you access to a whole different sound and dynamic performance. Modern players want to get the most out of their amps onstage and in the studio, and Mesa certainly delivers. With three versatile channels, eight incredible modes, the new Solo Control feature, a programmable/footswitchable effects loop, and a stage-ready 5-button foot controller, the Dual and Triple Rectifier heads are purebred, gain-wielding beasts destined for the same iconic status earned by their predecessors. Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier 3-channel, 100-watt/50-watt Tube Amplifier Head Features at a Glance:
The Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier tube amp head packs a ton of monster tone into a 3-channel package that's ready to take over any stage!

Overally, this amp rocks!April 28, 2012 Music Background: 30 year hobbiest I use channel 1 clean with some coloring effects in the loop. Sound is awesome. Channel 3 is what I have been search for...that perfect mix of high gain with tonal quality. Tons of adjustability to hone in the sould your after. I actually use it in a spare bedroom at a master volume setting of around 8-9 o'clock. It sounds great cranked and backed off. There are a few nitpick complaints I have (location of knob text is a pain to read, no real marker on the knobs to see what they are set at - only a chromed dent and I wish the foot contoller cable came out the back), but the sound quality more than makes up for the minor inconveniences. I am using the amp to play 80's rock, hard rock and heavy metal. close [-] Still my favorite

I've owned my dual rec for almost 12 years now. It's still my favorite. There were times when I thought "I have my dual rec for high gain, now I need a little warmth and a cleaner clean." After experi... read more [+]menting around with it over the years, I found I didn't need to go to multiple amps to get those qualities. It is certainly the most versatile amp I've played through, and I've played them all. As a plus, these things are built like tanks, and if something did go wrong Mesa's product support is exemplary. This truly is the "God of all amplifiers" for me. close [-]

This amp sounds great! There are so many sounds to choose from, the cleans are very nice sounding and even up to the higher gain settings this thing roars. This is meant to be a quiet amp. I bought a RockCrusher power attenuator for my amp for studio and practice volumes as this amp is mainly for studio use. close [-]

February 7, 2012 Music Background: No Quiet Channel Changes
by David Hungate from Chattanooga, TN
I have owned a few of these over the years. It is a very impressive for Distortion in the Ultra mode. I actually prefer Channel two which is more of a master volume vintage vibe. Channel one would pro... read more [+]bably be better without the master volume setup in my opinion. The" big secret" about these amps is that the channel switching is not always silent. Sometimes a load pop can be heard when switching channels either by the foot switch or on the amp directly. This may be due to the Relays used in the design. The older 2 Channel versions do not have this problem. The recommended fix is to rotate thru the channels a few times which only seems to diminish the issue rather than correct it. Great amp but if you want silent channel switching look somewhere else. I feel a hand-built amp in this price range should be silent. I only post this here as there seems to be little information out there regarding this issue and Mesa will not reply to my emails. close [-]
