It affected any passage greater than mezzo forte and sounded obviously distorted for many seconds at a time. I tired using the manual sound repair tools in SonicStudios soundBlade app (which has done many other kinds of truly wonderful frestorations and is a staple in the forensic audio community) without any success in this situation. I also had access to Adobe audition, which did a pretty good job in very short order, but still left audible residue in the most damaged sections. But that was totally eclipsed by the job that RX 2 did, which completely repaired the audio and left no tell-tale trace that there had ever been a problem at all.
