  They Shouldn't have changed it
by Dr. Mark from Pittsburgh, PA, March 2008
Music Background:  40 years as a professional musician

I bought this to replace a RP80 which I spilled a cup of coffee on. I bought the RP70 thinking it would be an improvement over the original RP80. I was somewhat disappointed as the RP80 had richer tones and better samples. However, they did improve on the Blackface settings but I feel that the Marshall type settings and the delays were better on the RP80. I have used the RP70 out playing through a clean 60 watt solid state amp and it performed well. I have an inexpensive volume pedal, which I bought for my keyboard, and it worked fine out of the accent pedal jack, so if you have a pedal, save yourself some bucks with the RP 70. Personally, I liked the sound of the RP80 better, so if I were you, I'd buy the RP50(which is like the RP80 but without the accent pedal) while you still can. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
