Huge Improvement over 300SX

I'm really impressed with what Roland did with this GX series. Piano action has improved ALOT compared to 300SX, and plus the Superior Grand that was available in 700SX was finally made into this series too. My only cons was the strings, it didn't quite impress me since they've done better job with the RDstrings and other SlowStrings tone, EP was also on the weaker side. But other than that you can't ask for more for this great price. Highly recommended for musician's that's looking for great sound in an affordable price and don't wanna carry tons of weight.

  Good Lightweight Stage Piano

I bought this board largely because it was 20 pounds lighter than the Kurzweil PC2X I had been using. Despite the lower weight, I find the action on the Roland to be more comfortable to play than the Kurweil, and the performance features (layers and splits on the fly) couldn't be easier. The piano sounds on the Kurzweil are slightly better to my ear, but not enough to justify the extra weight. The EP and clav sounds are also quite usable. The organ sounds are probably the weakest link, but usable in a pinch.

I have to say I can't believe how light this board is, but the the feel and sound is awesome! The controls are simple and intuitive and just make perfect sense for stage. Great Piano sample and great pallet of basic sounds (all the sounds you will need for your basic gig)
highly recommend it if you need to lighten up your load and still have great sound and feel!
