I find that the RC4 remote is an essential accessory to the H4n. I've used it primarily on live gigs or rehearsals when I have had to position the H4n where I can't be right on it to start and stop r... read more [+]ecording. You can't control all the settings but if you get those set before the recording session starts, the RC4 makes it a lot easier to stop and start while you are somewhat out of position to the recorder. My only regret is that the RC4 is not wireless. close [-]

Excellent remote and functions great. I'd highly recommend it to eliminate handling noise. Two things that I would've added: 1) First, make it wireless...(I'm a bit biased) the chips are not too expe... read more [+]nsive and small enough to implement in the design (although might impact audio performance if there are any power supply issues) and 2) If it's not going to be wireless give the wires some strain relief at the controller...it looks like it could be easily damaged if one is not careful with handling it. close [-]
