Cool Stick Control for Hot Gigs

You're playing a marathon set, and it's getting hot onstage. Not to be indelicate, but you're drenched in sweat - and your drumsticks are in danger of flying right out of your hands. Sweetwater has the solution: Promark ActiveGrip Drumsticks. With ActiveGrip sticks, you can handle any gig with cool confidence and firm control. These drumsticks have a heat-activated grip coating that becomes tackier as your temperature rises and your hands get sweaty. ActiveGrip sticks are comfortable and don't tear up your hands or affect your technique. The coating's no thicker than a regular lacquer coating and won't transfer to your drum rims, cymbals, or your hands. Pick up a pair of Promark ActiveGrip Drumsticks and experience the difference.

Promark R5BAG 5B ActiveGrip Drumsticks Features:
  • Revolutionary drumsticks with heat-activated ActiveGrip coating
  • Rebound balance: rear-weighted feel for agility and finesse
  • Shaft material: hickory

The best for control

Weight shifted toward the hand for better control. A simple but overlooked idea until now. I love these. So much easier to play delicate ghost notes. Way to go Promark. Have no comment on heat sensitive grip stuff, as I'm not a gigging player. Kinda pricey but supposedly longer lasting due to heat curing the wood. Definitely buy again when I trash these.

My personal favorite

Been using these for close to two years. I just don't have anything negative to say about them. They get just the right amount of sticky to feel comfortable but not tacky. They're well balanced. They hold up pretty well. So yeah.. I'm good. I'll take a case please..

Its a Winner for me

These sticks have simply done what they were advertised to do. Grip is perfect (no more wrap) really lets me loosen my grip and the sticks just stay where I want them especially when playing fast rolls down the Toms I feel my doubles and paradiddles are more precise and can hold them faster and longer compared to some other sticks. The foward balance for me really helps me play with more speed and power without causing extra fatigue it seems to help me have a bit more stamina. The acorn tips give a fantastic rich full sound to my ears on the snare and toms (Love It) I also love the way they feel on the heads and cymbals. On the hi hats (closed) they have to my ear a blunt but still kinda snappy sound. On the ride its a bit more of a wider lower tone sound but still has some definition (not as much definition or as pingy sounding as the shira kashi round tip however) I love the sticks they are pretty much the only ones I play now. I will give more feed back later on the durability (need more time but so far there holding up fine) In closing I think its the combination of the foward balance the acorn tip and the active grip that make them a winner for me. Thanks
