Quality Class A mic pre provides vintage warmth and serious headroom
To provide you with warm and wide-open tone, Aphex equipped the Project Channel with a real Class A preamplifier based on popular British and America recording console circuitry. With a -20dB pad, this channel strip gives you tons of headroom to play with plus 65dB of clear gain and phantom power for your condenser mics. A separate impedance-matched signal path ensures that when you plug your guitar or bass into the front input, the Project Channel will deliver clear and dynamically responsive sound.

Optical compression helps you keep your dynamics under control
Aphex has always been at the top of the game where optical compression is concerned, and the Project Channel more than lives up to the legacy. The single-knob ratio control makes operation extremely simple, and with a continuously variable 2:1 to 6:1 range, you can dial in anything from mild smoothing to heavy leveling. Add to that a 10-segment gain-reduction meter, and it's super easy to keep an eye on your levels.

By far, the two things Aphex is best know for are their Aural Exciter and Big Bottom technologies - and you get both in the Project Channel. By introducing selective even-order harmonics into your signal, the Project Channel's Aural Exciter adds presence and air to your sound. It's perfect for vocals and acoustic instruments. The Big Bottom processor, on the other hand, provides the kind of hard-hitting punch no mere EQ or compressor can.
