Pro keys 88 not bad as an affordable weighted keys but need something to be completed to be a good one.
by Mathieu Alley from USA, June 2008

This keyboard have good feel but the sounds are fakes.I got recently but it had some problems after seven months.I am really disappointed at it.I would instead recommend a Yamaha or a Korg Pro studio for anyone looking for good quality sounds in keyboards.
You Get What You Pay For
by Tom from Allentown, PA USA, April 2008

Remember the saying, you get what you pay for? That holds true for this keyboard. The sounds are ok, but the quality is just not there. I am using the keyboard just for the bass sound because I have a yamaha keyboard that I use for everything else. This keyboard is a monster and the weight of this thing is just way to heavy if you plan to use it for a band. I have only used it for a few months and 3 lights are already not working. I recommend saving for something better.
Good sounds, good keys: urgently needs software.
by Shoog from The moon, February 2008
Just Fabby! I have used a fairly extensive number of software plugins, and this thing has a few sounds that would be reasonably well at home in the best studio samplesets. It costs less new than comparable digital pianos do second hand too.
It would be nice to have a compatible 'Enigma' version, to have the thing bus powered, to have a few more knobs and faders (ASSIGNABLE knobs and faders) and some half decent bundled software for those using it as a master keyboard. After all, who the hell is going to buy this AND the keystation pro 88?
ProKeys 88
by Richard D. from USA, August 2007
Just unpacked it last night. Had a blast. This is my first weighted keyboard. Mainly a Hammond player, but bought a FantomXA last year to start doing some of my own material , and realized, I needed a weighted keyboard. Still a rookie as far as midi, but got the FAntom to play through the Prokeys. It has a good feel with the action, and the onboard voices are good, This will mainly be a controller, but if needed I would take this to play out if needed. E.P.'s are great as well as pad and strings. Construction seemd sdturdy and well-built. I am a machinist, so I always pay attention to the details like these. A great buy.
Great Value

This is a great keyboard, and for the price it's a great steal. I ordered one a few months ago and have used it at a few shows, but mostly just playing around with some new material with headphones hooked up to it. my family really liked that feature. As far as recording with it i have done a little and love how it turned out. this is a great deal.
Good sound - great for midi also - great price!

This piano has some of the best sounds built in I've ever heard from an electric piano. It also works great with a computer for midi (it has a USB port too). Also, $600 is a bargain for something this great! The only downside is that the keys are noisy when you hit them (they make a clunky sound when they go up and down).
A nice keyboard at a nice price.

I picked up the M-Audio Prokeys 88 a few months ago and really believe it to be a great value. I'm on the verge of switching from hardware to software based recording and needed a keyboard with certain features. Affordability is also important. The Prokeys 88 can go from a gig, take it home and plug into you DAW in your PC via USB and you've got a pretty versatile keyboard. It has no onboard speakers but a generous selection of acoustic and electric piano, clav and more. Eighty-eight keys means you can work on your piano technique. Pitch and mod wheels let you bring out a little Jan Hammer when you get the urge. Remote control of MIDI devices, start, stop, etc. I think the Prokeys 88 is a great keyboard. It's sad all the touring pros that use these feel like they have to build them into piano frames. I'm proud of mine!
Still a good enough buy
by Ah beng from SG, July 2006

I intentionally wanted to purchase the Keystation Pro 88 from M-audio, but seeing the price difference for a stage piano with its own sound capabilities with MIDI controller capabilities, I decided to pay a tad extra for the prokeys88.
I have to say, I agree when other reviewers say the Piano sounds are horrid. They are ABSOLUTELY horrid and fake in the mid range, but I have no gripes about the lower range notes. The highs are a bit sharp for me. If you have been playing a real piano, the disparity is great; even for other digital recordings.
BUT.... BUT, dont forget, you get other sounds with the piano. And that's where the plus points come in. I absolutely love the Strings and Warm Pad. They are lush and great with reverb. As for the other sounds, I am in no position to comment because I dont use them in my compositions. But they seem very ok to me. Its just that over-rated piano sound gripe.
The piano is relatively sturdy, but their hammer-action takes abit of getting used to. Its pretty hard and springs back sharply. However I have no problems with that spoiling any expressiveness of my playing.
In all, this piano has enough features for me as a good MIDI controller and a stage piano. I suggest going down to a store to try it out and hear the sounds for yourself before deciding on this. After all, music is very relative to your own preferences. But for a budget stage piano, the prokeys88 is definitely a good buy.
Great board for practicing!
by Anonymous , October 2005
The Keys have a good feel to them and the sound's are great, I know 14 sounds doesn't sound like a lot compared to the 100+ of "cheaper" keyboards but these sounds are pretty good. Headphone jack on the front left is a plus. Keyboard also comes with a very nice piano style pedal which has a little weight to it.
The M-audio Prokeys 88 is a great buy if your looking for a practice board/basic gig board.
Great Sounds at a great Price
by Gwen Frederick from Nor. Va, September 2005
Just got it and cannot stop playing! I especially enjoy the split and layer functions. The pianos sound wonderful layered with the string pads.
Will be a great sounding addition to my worship bands and gigs!!
