True earth

great for vocals and instruments. this unit is very easy to handle and provide true fidelity to your music. Its well built and very handsome in the studio.

what a nice addition

What a nice addition to my recording set-up! Having this many features in one channel strip allows me to "tailor" a dedicated microphone to the vocal needs of the main person who uses that mic. The preamp really makes the mic "react", the compressor offers lots of tailoring to keep the levels and sibilants in check, and the equalizer section offers such a wide range of vocal adjustment, that I have to do almost nothing to the vocals once they go into my DAW. I have only recently purchased, and begun to use this unit, but am very pleased with what I have been able to do with it thus far. I am certain that as I become more familiar with it, I will be able to "fine-tune" it even better to fit the needs for which I bought it. And, of course, Ryan at Sweetwater could not have been more helpful. Plus, I ordered it on a Friday afternoon, and it was delivered the next day. If anyone is looking for a mic preamp, and understands there is more to running a condenser mic than just phantom power, I would highly recommend this unit. If you are short on experience with using the components that this unit has, have someone read the owners manual out loud to you while you are looking at the unit. Then start turning knobs and pushing buttons while you're recording someone, and see what changes are made, and which ones you like versus which ones you don't like. I believe that there are enough quality sound shaping options available to please the most discriminant recording person. Of my three mic preamps, this one offers the most (and best) of what I have been looking for.
