Reviewsan apartment/project studio owner's dream

If you need to record guitar and live in a place where you can't crank an amp, this is the piece to get. So easy to use and it sounds great. I've had pro engineers ask me what amp and mic combos I'v... read more [+]e used to record guitars on tracks that I've used the podxt pro. Patience can be key however. I don't really like any of the presets. If you put some time into designing your sound you can get anything you want. Also, there is a huge community at line6.com where you can download other peoples presets. Line 6 also keeps your podxt pro updated, they add new models and make exiting models sound even better. Its like buying a new unit every year or so. October 4, 2006 Music Background: Disclaimer: It will never sound as good as a nice amp/mic in a great acoustic space, but it is the best alternative I've heard. close [-] Excellent Value, if you can't afford to do the real thing
by Jordan Schaff from Oak Harbor, WA
I have owned the PODxt Pro for 3 years, and it's excellent for beginning musicians/recording engineers all the way to aspiring producers alike. It provides an excellent basis for learning the feel of ... read more [+]amp/cab/mic combos and develops the touch of what sounds good on recordings. However, the "Pro" title is misleading. April 26, 2009 Music Background: Recording engineer, live sound engineer, hobbyist musician While this unit possibly might sound good enough for a home studio, it is NO substitute for the real thing. The discounted price makes it a worthy purchase, but if you're up late at night for hours and hours trying to dial in the tone just right, start buying real amps and mics. You've grown out of this unit. There really isn't any substitute for speakers moving air in a real space. That being said, hardly anybody has 50,000 dollars to fork over for an equivelent gear selection. So, in conclusion, if your a beginning to intermediate producer, engineer, or musician, you really can't beat this value. But, if your trying to sound like your favorite triple platinum album or singer, buy the real thing. It's what they do. close [-] Sweetwater Advice
Matt AdamsI've been a POD user since the original POD. The XT improves on it in every way. For the studio or the stage, the PodXT Pro gives you the tone you want with the flexibility of any kind of outputs you could dream up. |
