the ultimate sound is greatWhen I first purchased this item I was hesitant because I have so many virtual instruments in my studio already. But I must say that when I first heard the instruments on this ultimate sound pro-I was blown away. UVI did a fantastic job on the interface and there are so many filters that you can use to oscillate your sounds, you're not limited with what comes with the ultimate sound Bank. You can modify and change the sounds to your liking, then loops are fantastic to work with especially if you're just looking for groove to get started. I recommend this item 100% and for the price it is a steal.

I can't believe this hasn't been reviewed yet! This is a bargain. I bought this and NI's Bandstand. They work incredibly well together and cover just about anything. The acoustic guitars are, by the way, exceptional.

Nice for the $This is a nice program for the money. Obviously it has its limitations, but overall it is really nice.
1. The drum loops are easily surpassed by any drum program such as Easy Drummer, and are not easily edited.
2. Customer Support is also very limited, as all my emails have been answered by someone in France(i think?) with so/so English.
3. Program seems to be a bit unstable at times.
4. Woodwinds are pretty fake sounding.
1. Very good job on the piano sounds, organ sounds, and synths. Some of the strings sound very nice, but some of them are not usable. Its hit or miss.
2. Most sounds can be easily improved with reverb.
3. Easy to use layout and effects.

GlitchyThis product is okay for very light usage but feels like it's still in Beta. It's riddled with clicks and pops in the audio as soon as I load in more than one or two layers (and I have a QuadCore machine with 5GB of RAM). I like some of the built in DSP but it crashes if you're tweaking the settings or changing through presets while playing back. When using the browser to find a sample the "original tempo" box doesn't always work. You have to check it, uncheck it and then check it again. It is also a processor hog - it uses MUCH more CPU time than other plug-ins of equal or greater complexity.
I recently went to see if there were any updates and they had changed the interface completely to this FisherPrice-looking GUI that is even less functional than PlugSound Pro. In addition UltimateSoundBank's website is poorly laid out offering very little product support (I admittedly have not tried their phone support). PlugSound Pro has potential but the glitches, inefficient use of CPU and general unreliability make it a product I cannot recommend.
