Mine worked perfectly straight from the box. The 3-D expression dome is limitless, the keys have a good solid feel to them, The wheels are solid and smooth and accurate, the audio interface works perf... read more [+]ectly...no pops, skips or errors. But, the trick is to NOT install the Alesis drivers as they are the worst. There are 3rd party drivers that work well and for everything but the audio interface it will run great on no more than Win XP drivers alone. The programming is straight forward and simple...assigning buttons and knobs is a no-brainer. I've already recorded with mine and it's class-A enough for studio work. Compared to the Oxygen 8's and in fact all the others in this range the X25 blows their lips off. I'm a professional musician of 30 plus years. I've had a million toys. This one's a keeper. close [-]

Owned it since January '06. First use with my windows laptop, not very successful and unpredictable. Switch to my MacBook, and it worked flawlessly, no driver needed in Mac, connect it and it works. U... read more [+]se it daily with Reasons, Logic, Peak and Sibelius. Audio interface although it's surprisingly clean and flat, still somewhat limited headroom. Latency is good up to 10 live tracks, I figure its a hardware (processor, etc) issue. Overall, it's great product. Btw, Alesis Tech support is not very helpful (if you're using windows) close [-]

I have multiple friends that have purchased this and the same thing happened to them! I should have taken their advise and not bought this! I should have remembered that Alesis products fail and every product of theirs that I have owned has failed!
