From Our Research Team:The Stage Version of Bob Moog's Final Design!Moog Music has released Little Phatty Stage II, an analog synth with its sound engine designed by Bob Moog in one of the coolest-looking packages ever. Little Phatty Stage II is the realization of Bob's dream to combine the Moog's great analog sound with an instrument that is not only accessible to most musicians in terms of price, and equally important, designed with live performance in mind. The Little Phatty Stage II is the normal production run of the Phatties, as the Tribute Edition is now sold out.Moog Music Little Phatty Stage II at a Glance:
Real Analog Control Little Phatty Stage II is a 100 percent analog signal path, 100 user-editable presets and a 37-note keyboard with +/-2 octave transpose. The Little Phatty Stage II is not just the dream of Bob Moog, it's a performer's dream as well, with features like Real Analog Control (RACTM); a proprietary technology that lets you directly interface with the analog circuitry via the knobs on the control panel, and without any digital processing. In performance, this means that RAC grants you access to two ultra-stable voltage controlled oscillators and one voltage controlled filter. For additional auditory acrobatics, you can also crank up the overload control for pre- and post-filter distortion - and all of these controls grant you absolute power over the sound engine with no digital middlemen (latency) to go through. Multiple Interfacing Little Phatty Stage II also offers a world of interfacing capabilities with MIDI in/out jacks, three external CV inputs, and an external audio input. And, speaking of the world, the universal power supply accepts any line voltage from 90-250V AC; 50-60 Hz, meaning performers are ready to go whether their gig is in Dallas or Dublin. New Features The addition of MIDI over USB makes this sound sculpting tool even more powerful. Combined with its warm analog sound, ability to process external audio and its intuitive performance, sound design and control features, the Stage II makes a great addition to any rig... from full-on analog, to the perfect companion to your favorite laptop/softsynth setup. You can also connect it directly to a computer running the Little Phatty Editor/Librarian. MIDI Clock Sync allows you to synchronize the LFO and arpeggiator rate to your MIDI sequencer, drum machine or software. Sample and hold, triangle, square, sawtooth and ramp wave modulations can now be perfectly timed with your rhythm track. The Arpeggiator is a great new performance feature with applications for musicians in all genres. Its wide variety of uses is sure to find a place in your style. Of course, it also syncs to MIDI clock. Tap Tempo brings LFO and Arpeggiator tempo sync functionality to situations in which there is no MIDI clock. Moog Music Little Phatty Stage II Features:
Moog Music's Little Phatty Stage II is a true analog synth for musicians seeking a simple, clean front panel in a visually stunning package at a reasonable price.

Todd, Dunedin, FL Reviewsbased on 1 reviewLimited Synthesizer with an Incredible Sound, Incredible Design, and a Great Interface
by Nimrod Radian Gordon from Mexico
When buying a musical instrument, we look for a sound that we'll fall in love with. In a synthesizer, more factors come to our search, such as the interface and it capabilities. The Little Phatty, alt... read more [+]hough having it limitations, excels with it's sound, and with the interface that it carries, you won't notice the lack of knobs.October 3, 2012 Music Background: Performing Artist, Songwriter, and Music Engineer Playing and Tweaking the Little phatty leads to amazing tones. While tweaking, I have not discovered a single sound which didn't amaze me. The Little Phatty especially exceeds with it base sounds. The tone is so deep that you can feel your chest vibrating. Sound wise, it scores in my opinion a 5 out of 5 The interface is another success. The Little Phatty's lack of knobs does not interfere in the tweaking process. It feels natural. Although I'll admit that tweaking with more knobs is a lot of fun and more fun than the Little Phatty, it is a big advantage performance wise where it much easier to navigate quickly and tweak to you're desire on the spot. Interface wise, it scores in my opinion a 4 out of 5 The Little Phatty is also a looker. It is unique and eye catching. The only downside in this department is that it is very limited in terms of cases, but otherwise, it is one of the best looking synth around in my opinion. Design wise, it scores in my opinion a 5 out of 5 Now to the only place where the Little Phatty falls short a bit, and this is it's palate of sounds. This synthesizer is a bit limited. After a while, you will feel that the sounds you create begin to sound a bit similar to one another. I'm not saying in any way that you can't make unique and fantastic sounds, but I'm stating that you can't create a wide selection of different patches as you can with the Mopho for example. Feature wise, it scores in my opinion a 3 out of 5 Putting all of the factors listed above, you get an amazing instrument with unlimited possibilities sound wise. It sounds like I'm contradicting myself but I'm not. This instrument provides only a raw sound, and by adding effects to it, the sound potential becomes incredible. I would not hesitate recommending it to anybody looking for an amazing addition to a synthesizer collection, or somebody looking to buy their first synthesizer or first analog synthesizer. close [-] inSync Review
