recording engineer and studio guitarist

its a transducer

the akg "perception" 820 tube came as announced in all the ad's plus a spare spider strap. you can reread the specs at akg austria pages.

the sound is as you might expect from a large diaphragm pressure gradient transducer condensor mic:
full warmth with lots of creamy midth and highs.

its concepted in austria and built in china - i assume in a factory close to ningbo or shanghai.

compared it to my other tube mics: sensitivity is OK, frequency response as well. its a 12 AX 7 china tube inside. changed it after one day to electro harmonix type and it improved the sound even more.

I like the sound and will record with it a lot
