Customer Reviewsfrom Boise, ID October 28, 2011Music Background: Ex-professional musician - now just for fun. Unbelievable compared to others at this price!I was going to buy a Shure SM58 and just happened to ask my sales engineer AJ Peterson if there was anything else in the $100 price range that was possibly better. I've used SM58's for years, and what a difference! Only thing is you need phantom power and I wouldn't use it on-stage (although you could in a pinch). It's got a switch for a rumble filter and a 20 dB pad for micing amps, drums, etc. Actually, I used the pad to mic a tambourine because it was peaking all over the place. Great product! And it looks expensive!from Glens Falls, New York October 24, 2012Music Background: Semi-retired musician Akg Perception 120We have a lot of mics here in the studio,i.e., sennheiser, shure, behringer, audio-technica. The akg is a superb vocal mic. For what it does the price is simply unbelievable. The bass roll-off is a must for male vocals and even for the 12 string guitar. The frontal directionality is also highly useful. This mic gets used for a lot of things including drums but I like it most for getting those sweet female vocal sounds live or recording.from Montclair, Nj July 23, 2011Music Background: Production engineer Great Mic To Start Recording With!At the end of the day the Perception 120 is a good quality vocal mic, great for a small production studio or simply messing around with recording technique. It's a sturdy mic, with useful pad and filter controls, and ya know what? With a bit of compression, a pop filter, and a shockmount, it sounds damn good. Buy it.
