Customer Reviewsfrom Honnolulu July 27, 2012Music Background: Production Manager/ Sound Design Perc Pad is Perf Pad.....The Alesis Per Pad does exactly what I need it to do. I am a drummer/ percussionist and needed a real drumming feel and expression while laying down drum tracks in Redrum. I also needed to MIDI up with my Yamaha DTX head unit. The minute I first plugged in, the unit was simple to set up and MIDI note assignment was a snap. The internal voices and patches sound realistic but cheesy (normal for Alesis) I never use the on-board sounds any way. Overall it does what I purchased it to do. from Oregon February 7, 2012Music Background: Musician Great Pad for the $, only a few downsides...For the price, you really can't beat the versatility of this little guy. All the voices are clear and the modifiable options give each voice a great way to customize a sound. One annoying feature is that hitting two pads simultaneously will only give you one output. Not sure if this would be remedied by using the stereo output rather than the mono output, but something to consider.from Seattle, WA USA June 15, 2011Music Background: Hobbyist, Guitarist So far so goodI set up to be notified when the Percpad was available here on Sweetwater... got the notice last week, jumped on it, and got it yesterday. I'm kind of a noob at this stuff, but so far I like it! I'm a little disappointed at the odd choices for the 25 built-in sounds - I would have liked a few more 'classic', realistic (as opposed to synth) sounds in there, but it'll do. However, I've already hooked it up to my SR-16 drum machine, to make use of the MUCH better sounds there. I can't figure out why the MIDI numbers the Percpad sends don't correspond to the SR-16's sample numbers, but it's probably user error. I'll play more with that tonite. But so far I'm very happy with this little addition to my studio! /r |
