Having handmade guitars for such artists as John Denver, Al DiMeola, John McLaughlin, Earl Klugh, Jonas Hellborg, and BB King, Wechter has established a solid reputation among musicians the world over for his fine acoustic craftsmanship, and innovative design. And now, with the release of the Pathmaker Chambered Solid Body Model 9600 Guitar, we see Wechter Guitars carry their torch into a new arena. These solid body guitars showcase the kind of design, innovation, and craftsmanship that can only come from exploring an exciting new frontier. Crafted with unusual tonewoods, and embracing the body-style of the original award-winning Pathmaker acoustic, the Pathmaker Chambered Solid Body Model 9600 Guitar is truly a piece of Wechter history. Crafted with unusual tonewoods Custom built in Wechter's shop, these Pathmaker Chambered Solid Body Model 9600 Guitars embrace the resources of their region. Each body and neck is crafted from Michigan Walnut, while Michigan Curly Maple binds the body. An Okume top with Cedar core gives these guitars their great sound, as well as a gnarly, beautiful, grained appearance. Entirely American-made Pathmaker Chambered Solid Body Model 9600 Guitars are custom built in Wechter's shop. When you take home this solid body, you take home an American instrument that reflects the skill and crafsmanship accrued from Wechter's years of fine guitar-making. Charlie Christian HCC Blade pickup Each Pathmaker Chambered Solid Body Model 9600 Guitar features a Vintage Vibe Guitars pickup that's handcrafted in Hood River, Oregon. This Vintage Vibe CC Blade Single coil pickup provides the vintage look and tone of a Charlie Christian blade style pickup with modern features. AlNiCo magnets and a chrome-plated mild steel pole piece in this single coil pickup deliver warm and articulate tones well suited for jazz and blues. Grounded shielding that completely surrounds the coil is very effective in eliminating noise from external AC electric fields. Plus, the scatter-wound coil is potted under vacuum to prevent microphonic feedback. Graph Tech Ghost Pickup System This Wechter 9600 features the premier Graph Tech Ghost MIDI pickup system for the ultimate in tonal possibilities. Custom-engineered piezo crystals are set into a set of Graph Tech's String Saver saddles. These pickups offer a rich, acoustic-like tone - and you can play as hard as you like without fear of overloading the input channel, as with most piezo pickups. This system also serves to lengthen string life and improve sustain. Then, after being picked up, the signal goes through not one, but two state-of-the-art preamplifiers - the Acousti-Phonic Modular preamplifer and the Hexpander Modular preamplifier. Acousti-Phonic Modular Preamplifier System The Acousti-Phonic system on the Wechter 9600 captures the natural acoustics of your electric guitar in stunning realism, so you can amplify it or record direct without feedback or mic placement issues. If you plug in a mono cable, both the Ghost and magnetic signals will be sent the mono cable. Or, if you plug in a stereo cable, each pickup system routs to a separate output cable, so you can send the signal to separate processors. You'll also enjoy onboard piezo/magnetic mix volume, automatic battery off sensor, and auxiliary 9V power so you don't need two 9-volt batteries. Hexpander Modular Preamplifier The Wechter 9600's Hexpander Modular preamplifier is an extremely accurate, state-of-the-art tracking system that actually keeps up with your playing, so you don't have to slow down just to make sure the notes are captured correctly. You can even modify the tracking curve and optimize your hexaphonic output to best suit your unique playing style. Likewise, the hexaphonic output is MIDI and Virtual compatible, complementing Roland's latest crop of cutting-edge controllers, and many more. Perfect setup with Plek Pro technology Plek Pro is a revolutionary guitar technology achievement, effectively delivering the most optimal string action possible for each instrument - guaranteed. Each Pathmaker Chambered Solid Body Model 9600 Guitar goes through the Plek Pro system that actually mechanically dresses the guitar under true playing conditions, identifying what, precisely, needs to be done to achieve perfect fretwork.
