A Modeling Effects Box for Your Acoustic Guitar! Since its introduction, the Korg Pandora series has been acclaimed by guitarists and bassists for its high-quality sound, versatile functionality, and superb operability - all in an amazingly compact package. And now the Pandora PX4A is designed specifically for acoustic/electric guitar, and can transform a piezo output (which has a tendency to be sterile-sounding) into many warm, deep, rich and natural acoustic guitar body tones. The PX4a is a great choice not only for practicing, but for any situation that demands great guitar sound, including recording and live performance. Korg Pandora PX4A Acoustic/Electric Guitar Effects Processor at a Glance:
Custom effects designed especially for acoustic/electric guitar The Korg PX4A contains 82 effects optimized for acoustic sounds, including body effects that model the resonances and vibrational character of great acoustic guitars. Aspects such as guitar construction and body size are modeled in painstaking detail for numerous guitars, ranging from famous brands of the past through today's leading-edge manufacturers. The direct sound from piezo pickups can tend to have a sterile character, but the PX4A's effects add the distinctive warmth of resonating wood that is typical of an acoustic guitar, producing an extremely rich and natural sound. Includes models of resonator, 12-string, nylon-string guitar, and banjo The effects in the PX4A extend beyond the conventional boundaries of the acoustic/electric guitar to include models for resonator guitar, a newly developed banjo, and nylon-string guitar - you can play a wide variety of acoustic sounds using just a single instrument. There are also mic effects that simulate the sense of space and depth achieved by miking an instrument. With the PX4A, miking techniques that require years of experience and knowledge can be easily utilized by anyone, delivering superbly rich acoustic sound even when using a line output. The PX4A also includes other effects, ranging from standards such as compressor, limiter, echo, delay, reverb, and chorus, through distinctive effects such as a 12-string effect that reproduces the sound of a twelve-string guitar, and even a drone effect that simulates the drone tones of ethnic instruments such as a tambura. With virtually infinite possibilities that still preserve your natural acoustic sound, the PX4A is the ideal choice for anything from home recording to live performance. 158 additional effects with amp/cabinet modeling and more The PX4A also contains 158 effects that deliver vintage amp sounds and much more. From high-end tube amps to rare vintage amps and classic favorites, the PX4A's 25 amp types faithfully model the amp sounds that guitarists and bassists seek. Each of the 23 cabinet effects that reproduce the acoustic and structural resonances of a speaker cabinet were newly created especially for the PX4A.The creative possibilities are limitless - you can even combine a guitar amp with a bass cabinet. In addition to standards such as compressor and wah, the PX4A includes numerous realistic modeling effects that deliver a versatile range of tones. Pickup modeling transforms the sound of a single-coil pickup into that of a humbucking pickup (or vice versa), a guitar (bass) synth that lets you play synth sounds, an intelligent pitch shifter that automatically harmonizes with your playing, a talk effect that produces the impression that your guitar is speaking, a slow attack effect that creates violin-type swells, a feedback effect that allows feedback playing techniques that are normally possible only at high volumes, a rotary speaker that changes speed in response to your picking or fingering dynamics, a fretless bass effect that simulates the distinctive sound of a fretless bass, and many more are ready for your use. 100 rhythm and bass patterns cover numerous styles with realistic PCM sound The PX4A's 100 built-in rhythm patterns cover a broad range of styles that include rock, jazz, funk, blues and dance music. The PCM sounds used in these patterns produce realistic accompaniments that are fun to play along with. There are even bass patterns that let you specify the key chord, so you can practice any style of music while listening to a full rhythm and bass line. Since you can use the PX4A effect programs at the same time as these patterns, this is a great way to practice your picking, improve your rhythm or develop your sense of pitch. You can also chain pattern settings to combine up to sixteen different rhythm patterns. Auto notch function automatically detects feedback point The PX4A's notch effect is a helps to curtail the feedback (howling) that can be a problem for amplified acoustic instruments. There's also an Auto Notch function that automatically detects the frequency at which feedback is occurring, so you can perform with the best acoustic sound at all times without being troubled by feedback. Amp-like ease of operation The PX4A user interface is knob-based for intuitive and easy use. Frequently-used parameters, such as the amp type, have their own independent dial, and the tone controls can also be adjusted as easily as on a guitar or bass amp simply by turning the knobs. The value dial makes it a simple matter to adjust amp types and parameter values. The PX4A also offers a TAP button that you can use to set delay times or the tempo of a rhythm pattern. Phrase trainer helps you learn phrases by ear or practice soloing With the PX4A you can record up to 30 seconds from an audio source such as a CD, MD or MP3, and play it back repeatedly (looped) at a slower speed without changing the pitch. This is a great way to learn complex or rapid passages by ear, since you'll be able to hear the phrase slowly. You can also record a phrase that you play yourself along with the PX4A's built-in rhythm and bass accompaniment, and then practice soloing over the top of it. Mix your own playing with the playback of an audio source You can connect a CD player or another external audio source to the PX4A's Aux In jack, and use the Key Transpose function to change the pitch of the song upward or downward by as much as one octave. The PX4A also contains a Bass Canceller function that erases the bass sound from an external audio source so that you can play and hear your bass along with the song.
