March 21, 2011 Music Background: Pro musician The rubbery stuff wears off at the neck strap pin because it will be angled against the body of the guitar with a good bit of pressure. That pressure wears it down. The mechanism itself works ago and it is secure. With another style guitar, say a strat, it might be OK, just not good for LP's neck pin. close [-] Also popular
