Speed up your workflow with Disc Caching
Far and about one of the most impressive new features of Pro Tools HD 10 is its Disc Caching features. This incredible technology lets you allocate some of your computer's RAM for the purpose of storing (caching) your session's audio. Since read/write speeds to RAM are much faster than even the fastest traditional hard drive, once your sessions is cached (a process that happens in the background and takes only a few seconds), you get a serious performance boost. Instantly play from anywhere in your session, jump from marker to marker with the timeline running, and more. This features alone completely changes the way Pro Tools HD behaves and is more than worth the price of admission.

Expanded automatic delay compensation lets you pile on the plug-ins
Go ahead - load up the plug-ins. Pro Tools HD 10 introduces a whopping 1,6383 samples of delay compensation, so if you want to get crazy with convolution or stack up some L3s, you're safe. Speaking of plug-ins, check out Avid's new Channel Strip plug-in. It's the same channel strip algorithm found in the legendary System 5 console - the one used in major broadcast houses and post-production mixing facilities. To put it mildly, the Channel Strip plug-in is a huge upgrade to Pro Tools HD.

Advanced EUCON Integration
Pro Tools HD 10 builds on the EUCON support first introduced in version 9, adding over 500 newly supported functions. Any command you can access from Pro Tools HD's pull-down menus (not just those with key commands) is now available to your EUCON-equipped control surface. So whether you're using a set of Artist Series control surfaces or take the plunge into a System 5-MC workstation, you'll get the hands-on control over Pro Tools HD you need.
