A proud new member of the TRUE Systems product line of precision mic preamps. The P-Solo Ribbon is specifically designed to get the absolute best results from both new-technology and vintage ribbon microphones (and for that matter, dynamic mics also).

The P-Solo Ribbon features the same design as all true systems preamps, but with no phantom power (dangerous to most ribbon mics), no capacitors in the signal path, even higher input impedance and higher gain capability.

When recording a band recently, I used a ribbon for the drum room mic. Ribbons need a ton of gain, and I didn't want to add any color to the sound whatsoever. The True Systems P-Solo Ribbon delivered perfectly: Even cranking it to maximum, the only "noise" coming through the preamp was the ambient room sound. If you're getting a ribbon microphone, couple it with this pre - you won't be disappointed.
