Terrific sound quality

By Joel from United States on January 5, 2015 Music Background: Semi-pro musician (i.e. pro-musician with a dayjob)

This keyboard has little to envy from professional models. When it comes to piano and basic rhythms, you can go a long way. I bought this one as I was abroad and wanted a cheap keyboard that I can leave at my in-laws for occasional gigs, and it really did the trick, including when connected to a professional sound system. I might not use this for my paying gigs (except if it's mostly piano, as opposed to rhythmic pieces), as it does not have all the registration capabilities as the Tyros, but considering it costs 10% of the Tyros' price, it's well worth it. Plus it's super light, I could litterally lift it with a single finger!

Terrific keyboard

By Robert Gramlich from Los Angeles CA USA on March 6, 2014 Music Background: Hobbyist

I wanted a super portable light keyboard with decent piano sounds
and some drum kits to take to rehearsals and small gigs and this
Yamaha fits that perfectly
Very impressed how much they packed into this board for such a
reasonable price
Nice job Yamaha

Child's Perfect First Keyboard

By Tamara Pozzi from Beaverton, Or on December 8, 2013 Music Background: Piano Teacher, Singer, Guitarist

I am writing a review because there are not many online reviews written for this Yamaha keyboard ; I bought one yesterday for an 8 yr old's Christmas. She is one of my piano students. I was looking for reasonably realistic piano sound, and wow does the Grand Piano sound satisfy. The keys are touch sensitive, real size, and reverberate with a realistic vibration through the fingers similar to how an acoustic piano would respond (as opposed to the dead plastic feel of many inexpensive keyboards). Fantastic gift for any musical child.

The Yamaha PSR-E343 61-key Portable Arranger

By Mac Chesley from United States on July 11, 2014 Music Background: Professional musician for 30 years - now weekend gigs

When I asked my sales rep at Sweetwater for a recommendation for a portable keyboard that would survive the airlines and a cruise ship I expected something very basic that was a notch above a toy. I was blown away by t the quality ,durability and the amazing arrangement capabilities of the Yamaha PSR-E343 61- for under $200.00. The only negative point to mention is that I spent more time rehearsing with my new keyboard than I did with my wife; not a good idea if you're on a cruise. Oops!

Great!

It is what it is

By Harold Silver from Longmeadow,Ma on January 8, 2015 Music Background: Clarinetist intermediate level

Absolute beginner for piano, reliable right size, would have ordered lighter weight earphones, neat looking setup, would go no further in my selection, salesperson,B.T. Very helpful, affirmative follow-up,Sweetwater delivered as promised,no complaints, they have gained a lifetime customer.

Very poor

By Russ Lechlarter from Columbus, OH on August 19, 2014 Music Background: Hobbyist

This is a TOY keyboard. The grand piano sound is bad. It must be played through an amp to get sufficient volume. The touch sensitivity is not even between keys with some keys louder and some softer. I wanted to go back to playing keyboard and with a limited budget, I bought this. It was a mistake. Only recommended for children.
