Fun Pitch Shifter!

I bought the Boss PS-5 Super Shifter Pedal as a simple means to change keys, along with a Boss FV-500 expression pedal. The PS-5 is extremely difficult to read in dim light, and the plethora of controls can cause problems if you haven't memorized the manual. It’s also made out of plastic, rather than the metal housing I'm used to in DigiTech pedals. Boss pedals feel extremely lightweight in comparison. Pitch Shift is great, although unstable at times, so use a compressor. You can set a delay time for Pitch Shift or Harmonizer for spatial effect, and it can even add descants to what you're playing, which rocks! Detune adds depth, and is highly adjustable for just the right sound. Tremolo and Flutter are quite good, and somewhat stable as polyphonic effects; however, a foot has to remain on the PS-5 in order for the other foot to control the expression pedal in real-time. The Pitch Shift and Detune features alone are worth picking this up, and are even better than the DigiTech Whammy!
