Martin audio (my personal favorite speakers on the planet. clarity beyond anything but expensive beyond anything) ... read more [+] 2. rcf (great but pricey) 3. fbt (himaxx 60A is insanely clear,loud and the low end rattles the house and was my dream to get after martin audio) 4. jbl. ive been saving money for 7 months to get speakers for my bands sound system. we play in weddings,parties etc. we play,acid jazz,jazz,pop,rnb etc. needed a major upgrade from my pair of 350watt 15inch proe active l speakers. so we can accept bigger gigs of 200-400 people. i was set on fbt already for many months. i was told to buy these jbl speakers,so i reviewed and got scared because of the shutting down issue. one day i passed by a local music store,for fun i had them set up these speakers for me. and they did. boom ,got totally shocked, low end is crazy,mid and highs are crispy. its loud!!! so i took all my time,i wanted to see just how clear it would be, so a smooth jazz CD is what we used, it was crystal clear, closed my eyes and the music was breathing, in a 3 dimensional space of sound i could hear these elements/frequencies clear. vocals right in your ear and floating above the music, drums,bass piano and l percussion,all separate clear elements.i left the music store so impressed. i came back with our singer and guitarist to test it again, i even brought my yamaha spx2000 effex processor to hook up to the stores mixer. it passed with flying colors. now when we do acoustic gigs (2 or 3 piece band) of a crowd of 50-80 people,i just need one unit. OKAY now what everyone is scared of, the "over heating issue". i brought one unit to an event,long story short, i set up at 10am for the gig, i shut down the jbl prx 625 at 10pm. thats 12 hours non stop use, with singers,supper loud dance music,a magic show,karaoke, an acoustic band,they all used it the whole day. one unit for 12 hours non stop no break at all.absolutely no problem at all!!!. just crystal clear audio!! get a pair!! i bought a pair of ALTO 18 inch 1200 watt active subs to go with it, funny i havent taken out the subs from the box and weve done gigs already. the low end will make you happy!! very happy!! in the business people llok for respectable brands, well JBL is up there with the big guys in terms of quality/clarity and company support but on its own in terms of affordability. its an awesome package. close [-] great for mobile DJ's

I was really excited when I bought these speakers I bought a pair. They don’t weigh very much 60lbs. isn't much for me n I come in at 170lbs. I had a gig 2days after they came in the mail. man was th... read more [+]e unloading n setting up was easy it took like 5mins. Anyway the gig was from 8pm to 2am. No problems at all it just sounded great the bass was crazy, crisp n clean. My headphones rattled off the table. I had read some where that the prx625 shut off n cut off because of over heating but I called JBL before I bought my speakers n the enginer said he heard of that problem with a prx612m but that was one case n shouldn't be an issue because JBL covers it under their warranty of 5years so no big deal. I put up a youtube video just type in "JBL PRX 625" it will come up. Thanks jim from sweetwater close [-]

These are some awesome speakers.No doubt I was skeptical about purchasing these as they were fairly new in the market but these montser are light weight and they rock.Perfect for DJ or Live sound.
