I play guitar/synth with my church’s worship team. I purchased this guitar to be used as my main instrument for Sunday services. My impressions so far…great sustain (Seymour Duncan triple shot)...lots... read more [+] of setting options.May 19, 2012 Music Background: pop bands in1960's now, church worship team The midi synth also has lots of sustain. I switched out the strings, to Fender Flatwound 11/50’s, and re-set the bridge spring tension. Intonation is right on. Finish very nice…Korean built. The neck is a bit thicker than my Brian Moore iguitar, it has the feel of an acoustic neck to me (1- ˝” at the nut, 2 -3/8” at the bridge..string to string) There is no piezo acoustic out...so it is all magnetic pickups...but it has so many options, that is not a limiting problem. It has replaced my Brian Moore iguitar as my ‘number 1’. I am not missing the Piezo acoustic....it has given me a chance to reduce my pedals. I am now using my Zoom G2, and the Roland Gr-20. I can feed everything thru the 13 pin from the guitar....then use the Gr-20 effect loop to connect the Zoom. Then it is all on one guitar cable to my Roland kc300 amp. I got a Monster Jazz cable when I got the guitar (living large!). My team leader played it at practice...and had the same comment...that the neck has the feel of an acoustic guitar. It seems to be a lot smoother with the midi synth sounds. I am using a setting on the Gr-20, that allows me to switch up/ down an octive, using the guitar's synth toggle to enable the feature. Switching the toggle in the other direction allows a 'hold' and 'glide' feature. In the off position...the Gr-20's foot switches change the synth sounds. The Seymour Duncan pickups sound really great. I have found the 'humbucker' settings on the tripple shot rings to be my favorite setting. We don't really do 'cover' songs...so we use our own arrangements, and don't do a lot of switching settings. close [-] Best Guitar under three grand on the market

I took a chance and bought the PM 7453 based upon the description and advice from my Sweetwater consultant (Robbie R). I have never purchased a guitar without getting to know it up close and personal,... read more [+] so this was a leap for me. Abe's reputation and the fact that he made guitars for John MClaughlin gave comfort. When I got the guitar out of the box I was very happy with the look and feel,as nice as any PRS or Gibson. When I plugged it in I almost became emotional as I admired the clarity and the tone of this particular guitar. After setting up the GR-55 for this system I was taken back again at how much better the graphtech system sounded over my old RMC 13 pin set up. I could go own and own but I will just say this,if musicians bought guitars strictly based on looks, quality, sound and value (instead of legend) Wechter would be a top selling brand in America. Enough pro's, as for the cons, it is a little on the heavy side but not bad and definantly worth the weight! close [-]

I purchased the Wechter Pathmaker PM-7354 after reading about it on Sweetwater.com and watching the videos on the product page. There was not much information available other than this web site, but t... read more [+]he guitar had the features I was looking for and it was much more affordable than some of the other offerings.October 4, 2011 Music Background: Guitarist, Bassist, Home Recording and Songwriting I cannot emphasize enough how nice the fit and finish of the guitar I received is. The setup is the best I've ever played, the intonation is perfect and the finish rivals many of the high-end PRS and Gibsons I've seen, at a fraction of the price. The pickups sound fantastic and the triple shot mounting rings work as advertised, allowing me to get a wide range of humbucker and single-coil sounds. I have a Roland GR-55 and after I set up the pickup type and sensitivity, the tracking was good to excellent, depending on the patch type. I've been working with various settings for the last few weeks, and my results are improving dramatically, although the piezo-type hex pickups tend to be too sensitive at times. The hard-shell case is of good quality, and of course the Sweetwater service was excellent. I received the exact guitar I ordered, set up and ready to play. This guitar has quickly become my favorite, and I would recommend that anyone considering it for use with a Roland GR-55 to give it a try. I think you'll be very happy with the results after careful adjustment of the GR-55 pickup settings. close [-] Sweetwater Advice
Nick ChurchThis Wechter Pathmaker both looks and sounds amazing, even more so when you look at the price! I own a guitar costing more than twice what this Wechter costs, and from the choice of tonewood to the maple top to the overall attention to detail, the Wechter is definitely not out-classed. The Seymour Duncan pickups really make this beauty sing, and then of course you have the MIDI/Guitar-Synth capability for almost limitless tonal possibilities. One of my customers put it this way:- "This Wechter guitar is fantastic! By far this is the best synth guitar package on the market. I hope Abraham Wechter gets rewarded and blessed with lots of sales and success. Not only is the guitar amazing in playability and tone - it is absolutely a beautiful piece of art!" I absolutely agree with him!! Also popular
