Customer Reviewsfrom Columbus, GA March 5, 2012Music Background: Self-taught This is one very good guitar.I purchased this Wechter because of the 13-pin capacity, to use with the Roland VG-99. But, first, let me say this: This guitar sounds INCREDIBLE as just a 'plain ole' guitar'. It absolutely rocks! Whereas my PRS Torero (also from Sweetwater) has a 'razor edgy' sound, which is great for high-gain metal tones, the Wechter has a 'creamy crunchy' sound, which I might also describe as 'grinding', perhaps more suitable for something less than ear-bleeding metal (which it can do with the Roland VG-99) if you were to put it through a 'normal' amp.Buy this guitar even if you don't get this 13-version. Now: the Wechter works great with the VG-99 -- but the MIDI 'volume' knob has about 1/8 inch of actually usability -- from silent to undesirable feedback. I have two Gk-3 units also -- and their 'volume' controllers are much more useable. But, nonetheless, I still grab the Wechter when I am ready to play without fuss and extra wires. A+++++
