Don't learn the hard way!

All I wanted to do is record some DI bass in my new studio. I never got the chance. As I plugged in to my Presonus, I heard a loud pop through the monitors. The channel I plugged into made horrible noises for a few seconds then fizzled away leaving no signal...except noise and crackling. As it turns out, the expensive "surge protector" strip I had my gear plugged into wasn't from a reputable manufacturer, and the grounding pin was merely for show! Luckily Presonus has an excellent repair policy. Immediately, I came to Sweetwater and ordered a PL-8 II! Things could have been much worse (this situation has killed people in the past). Thanks to Furman this won't happen again. It should be law to own one as it is simply dangerous not to have one!

I replaced some old surge protectors with a few of these things in my racks (live theatre).They took a savage hit the other day with no ill effects. They probably saved me a couple hundred thousand dollars. I would have given it the highest rating, but I find it hard to be “blown away” by anything that doesn’t wash my car.
