I decided to upgrade and the M-5... read more [+] is by the far the nicest I ever owned in both looks and sound (and I've owned several top of the line Premiers, Ludwig, etc.). I have heard some comlaints about the snare in other reviews but I have found that a new head, good tuning and a gel pad to kill ring produces that great high pitched pop.
