From Our Research Team:
Rugged palm-sized recording tool! The PCM-M10 is the latest addition to the PCM family of handheld recorders, and it's the smallest version yet while still being a feature-rich recorder. Borrowing many of the features from the hugely popular PCM-50, the PCM-M10 is ruggedly constructed to withstand the rigors of location recording, and 4GB of internal flash memory coupled with a microSD/Memory Stick Micro (M2) slot ensure you have plenty of recording capacity. With 24-bit/96kHz recording and the compact size, the PCM-M10 is a great choice for any mobile recording.

by Mark Corrigan from Phoenix, AZI researched all the recorders in this price range (and some that were twice as much) and I picked this one. This quality recorder seems well built, with illuminated buttons, illuminated LCD display, and includes a very nice plug-in remote control. It also has 4 GB of on-board memory, uses Sony stick type memory AND micro SD memory.
Also included is a wall wart power supply. I just can't say enough about the build quality and feature set.
Don't hesitate to get this, you'll be very pleased with it. close [-]

technically good but user interface less than ideal
by Axel from IdahoTechnically this unit is great. The sound is good, the weight, just about everything and other reviews praising the unit prompted me to buy it. They were not wrong in their suggestions. If it were ... read more [+]up to this I would give it a high rating. My critique is about the user interface. Perhaps I am too much used to Apple products and expect other devices to have at least some intuitive touch as well. For example, the real estate of the display is opposite of what I would have expected, e.g., the things I care to see (like name of the recording) is so small that I have to put the readers on, whereas other things (like date) is 4 times the size. The buttons are similarly non-intuitive, e.g., moving the curser. Yes, once could say: just read the manual (and you have to look at it to realize how silly a suggestion that is). But seriously, if one can make recordings with Apple's Garageband without a manual, why would I have to consult the Sony manual just to find out how to turn this unit off. Sorry, great unit but I do not understand some of the comments that praise how intuitive this unit is. I would still buy the unit again, since I would fear that the other product will suffer from similar issues :-) close [-]
