Good Enough for Paul McCartney!!!!

What can I say...this is the keyboard McCartney uses inside his 'magic' psychedelic piano, and uses to play such critical piano pieces such as Hey Jude, Lady Madonna, and Golden Slumbers. He can hav ... read more [+]e any piano sound he wishes--so that says a lot!
Also, just about every touring country band that comes through town (and they NEED good piano sounds) uses the PC88 or PC2x. What does that tell you?

Not bad, but the piano is not happening.

This is a good keyboard. Great touch, easy user interface, and most of the patches are very usable, especially the electric piano and organ patches. But the piano is one of the worst I've ever heard. ... read more [+]It's the mid-range notes that are suffering the most. I was enjoying a Gladys Knight recording recently until I heard the unmistakable sound of the PC2X's piano patch on one of her solo numbers. It ruined it for me.
I'm not one to be overly critical, but anybody who thinks that this keyboard has a great piano patch has not been around a real piano in a long time. My $300 Casio keyboard has a better sounding piano, and that is no exaggeration. If you're looking for world class piano patches, look elsewhere. But for anything else, this keyboard will probably do. close [-]
KURZWEIL for Pro and Church applications

As a pro keyboard musician and installer (30+ years) my choice is the Kurzweil PC2X.

With full 88 notes and the closest feel of a grand piano, my customers express written satisfaction and repeat business for the same instrument!
The PC2X has factory setups of which (in my opinion) 60% are usable for most worship applications. The remaining setups can be modified on-site and saved.

I have created a [7] groups of setups for church applications which can be loaded and saved in your PC2X. For pricing or playable demos, Email me:

The professionals choice

I've had my PC2x for 6 mo. I played every keyboard out there before buying the Kurzweil--and let me tell you: This baby rocks! The keyboard feels great and the sound... wow! The piano's a ... read more [+]re, as always with Kurzweil, amazing! I also like the pads and synth sounds allot. The Percussion section is extremely well done and you can make some righteous beats with this board using a midi sequencer. It's also true you could write a symphony with the orchestral expansion card and the four programable zones.
The weighted hammer action is the best I've found. The onboard FX sound fantastic and the balanced outputs allow a direct mic-line feed without a DI Box. The case is streamlined and made of steel with plastic end-caps and it is built to last in every aspect. The specs may say lightweigh, but keep in mind this thing weighs 50+ lb's, so I suggest a case with wheels. close [-]
