Fender American Standard Precision Bass V at a Glance:
  • Classic design
  • American Standard pickup for huge tone
  • The perfect neck finish

Classic design
Leo Fender brought us the Precision Bass back in the 1950s, and its classic body shape and comfortable neck continue to give today's American Standard version excellent playability and a distinctive look. Players from all genres have embraced the P Bass®, and it continues to be a favorite in the studio and on stages everywhere. As with so many of Fender's original designs, the man got the essence of a great instrument right the first time, and over a half-century later the American Standard Precision Bass V stands as a sterling example.

American Standard pickup for huge tone
You'll get big tone and massive low end from the American Standard Precision Bass V thanks to the American Standard pickup. The 5th string isn't flabby and nasty sounding on this P Bass®. The American Standard Precision Bass Alnico V pickup gives you a warm, fat tone that makes the low B really stand out.

The perfect neck finish
Players are very particular about many aspects of their instruments, but none more so than the neck. Fender has incorporated a great-feeling satin finish on the American Standard Precision Bass V neck. The back of the Precision Bass's neck has a slick-playing satin finish that feels worn in and ready to go. The headstock has a tinted gloss finish, and the rosewood fretboard has been buffed to perfection. Once you play the American Standard Precision Bass V neck finish, you won't be able to go back to anything else.

When it came time to start from scratch with the studio, I had a lot of questions. The Sales Engineers I've worked with are really friendly and patient, and the guidance they provided was invaluable; they basically helped build the studio.
