Ready to Play Whenever You Are!Yamaha's P-35 digital piano puts the sound and feel of a real acoustic grand piano in your home or live performance rig. Built around Yamaha's AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) sampling, the stunningly realistic sound of the P-35 goes hand-in-hand with the natural feel of the P-35's Graded Hammer Standard keybed, which emulates the dynamic feel of real acoustic piano strings from the fattest bass notes to the light response of the highest treble notes. Add to that a set of fun performance options, and you can't go wrong with a Yamaha P-35 digital piano.
Yamaha P-35 88-key Digital Piano at a Glance:
The feel of a real concert grand piano
From the first time your fingers tickle the ivories on the P-35, you'll know why Yamaha digital pianos are known far and wide for having some of the best-feeling keys on the market. That's because the P-35 sport's Yamaha's Graded Hammer Standard keybed. This fully weighted keybed provides you with light response in the upper register and progressively heavier action the lower you play - just like the keys of an acoustic piano.
AWM sampling and built-in speaker system for realistic grand piano sound
Yamaha's AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) sampling employs digital technology to record an instrument's sound, and then applies a high-quality digital filter to the recorded samples. Using pairs of waveforms captured by two microphones for Left and Right, AWM Stereo Sampling creates a deeper, richer and more spacious soundstage. You'll also appreciate the P-35's built-in 12W speaker system. Just turn it on and you can start performing - there's no need to connect any other gear. That makes the P-35 the perfect transition from an acoustic instrument to the benefits of a digital one. Plus, it's lightweight enough to take onstage with you, when you're ready to perform!
Compact, lightweight, and easy to use
Just like Yamaha's other P-series digital pianos, the P-35 sports a compact, lightweight, and contemporary design, giving you easy storage and effortless portability. And the P-35 is easy to use, too. With its simple, streamlined interface, all you do to call up a glorious-sounding concert grand piano is hit the, um, "Grand Piano" button. And calling up any other patch is just as easy. The P-35 features ten stunningly realistic instruments, including electric piano, organs, harpsichord, vibraphone, and more. The P-35 is half-pedal capable with the optional FC3 pedal. A sustain footswitch and a music rest is included.

The Yamaha P-35 is an ideal digital piano for practice and performance!

Heaven for an advanced beginner piano player
by Elizabeth Ingraham from the Great PlainsAfter enduring 6 months of a 61-key USB keyboard, I finally have 88 keys, and speakers, and weighted/graded action. Heaven! While this may not meet the needs of the advanced user, it is wonderful for ... read more [+]me and I expect to get several years of enjoyment out of it.

Music Background: Student
--A compact form factor. Nice and narrow. No LCD screen or anything else I don't need to just take up space. Just a few discrete buttons. And not to heavy for me me to move around/
--A clean, beautiful design--important in a small space.
--Midi in and out and an iOS connection kit is available
--The key action (adjustable) is very good. Almost, but not quite, like playing on my teacher's Steinway. And I do appreciate the ability to switch into harpsichord or organ or other modes.
--Nice robust sound from the internal speakers.
--Terrific value for the price
--The supplied sustain pedal is a joke. I have a nice inexpensive one that looks like a real pedal from M-Audio and when I can afford it I may get the Yamaha F3 one as it has half-sustain.
--Sits a little too high on my On-Stage platform stand. I will probably get the Yamaha 85 stand.
--No dust cover, but I bought the Gator one and can highly recommend that as well. (My teacher advised me to get a dust cover.)
--Love the unobtrusive design of the music rack but it could be higher.
Shipping was ridiculously fast and Sweetwater is, as always, a pleasure to deal with.
My piano study, piano practice and piano playing is about to take a big leap forward with the wonderful instrument. close [-]
Great MIDI Controller
by Alejandro Lobos Kunstmann from Mexico City, MexicoSorry. Not much to compare to but cheap M-Audio Keystations recently (loved 90s synths as controllers). I wanted the best keyboard, not thousands of buttons and functions. Just a great keyboard. Best ... read more [+]money spent. For everything else I can now look for ANY cheap plastic MIDI controller that has the thousand buttons and functions. A plus is to have an integrated amplifier and speakers so I can turn it on and just play without having to do the whole OS/sequencer/session/plugin/load instrument thing. Piano sounds are pretty decent. DX7 e-piano obviously comes with it as well as a good-for-the-job Rhodes sound. I like it a lot for composition. close [-]

Like a Grand Piano
by Janet Hess from Gordon, NEI really like the feel and sound. I have always wanted a grand piano but don't have room for one so this is the next best thing. Thanks.

Playability for the money
by Adam from Fort Wayne, IndianaThis is the best playing keyboard I could find for this price. I played every keyboard on the showroom floor. Plays better than many of the high dollar keyboards. Running it into my interface, sound system, or amp has been easy with only one out.
