P33A DESCRIPTION

ADAM A.R.T. Technology with an Extra Woofer!
The ADAM P-Series of active Monitors is made for post production, home studios, and mobile recording. They offer the original A.R.T. (Accelerated Ribbon Technology) tweeter with its unsurpassed clarity in a lower price region and deliver a stunning precision in sound reproduction. The P33A is an excellent choice for recording enthusiasts who want the advantages of ADAM's unique mirrored S3-A design at a lower price point.

ADAM Audio P33A Active Monitors at a Glance:
  • Full-range driver with second woofer for sub-150Hz content
  • Outstanding performance from 100-watt amplifiers
  • A.R.T. folded ribbon technology

Full-range driver with second woofer for sub-150Hz content
Like the S3-A, one woofer acts as a full-range driver with the second woofer joining it only below 150Hz. This unusual approach effectively doubles the area and power of the woofer when it needs to respond to deeper frequencies, resulting in an exceptional low end without compromising midrange performance.

Outstanding performance from 100-watt amplifiers
The P33-A is shielded and has three 100-watt amplifiers that deliver outstanding dynamic performance. It can be used either horizontally or vertically, so that very flexible positioning within the studio is possible.

The ADAM Audio A.R.T. Folded Ribbon Technology:
ADAM Audio's A.R.T. (Accelerated Ribbon Technology) tweeters and midrange units take a completely new approach in kinematics to move air and improve the quality of music reproduction. Based on the original works of Dr. Oskar Heil, who invented his "Air Motion Transformer" back in 1972, new electroacoustic transducers have been developed that are based on improved layouts and new materials. The membrane consists of a thin folded diaphragm whose single folds move according to the alternate current, thus squeezing air in and out. All other loudspeaker drive units, whether they are voice coil driven, electrostatics, piezos or magnetostatics, act like a piston, moving air in a 1:1 ratio. This is undesirable, as the specific weight of air is much lower than that of the driving mechanics. Speaking in terms of electrical engineering one could say there is a bad match between source and load. The A.R.T. principle achieves a 4:1 velocity transformation between driving diaphragm and driven air, i. e. the air moves in and out four times faster than the folds itself are moving. This superior "motor" is responsible for the enormous clarity and transient reproduction that is to be heard from the A.R.T. drive units.

Customer Reviews
 These monitors are like God!!!

“The moment you turn these monitors on, they are something very special. The first thing you notice is the dry sound of the ART tweeter. Yes, it doesnt have the annoying top end sparkle like many soft dome tweeters, and instead allows one to hear the audio in its full glory. The P33A is a very critical monitor that tells you of any recording flaws. If somethings sounds harsh, thats because it is....” Read More

Sweetwater Expert Advice

"I bought the P33As for my own Pro Tools|HD studio for even better accuracy and detail. Studio monitors are often the most-overlooked part of the studio, yet remain the most important component. It doesn't matter how good your mics and pres are if you can't hear what is really going on in the mix. To quote the late Dale Earnhardt, "I can see the air flow."
