I've been a working musician for about fifteen years. These were the first in-ear monitors I tried (based on positive reviews and my experience with Shure products). They work absolutely perfectly and... read more [+] are like night and day compared to any floor monitors I've tried (and I've tried a lot). It's tough to get some instruments loud enough on a rock stage--vocals, acoustic guitars--without feeding back. These totally solve the problem. My band has two singers and we play even small gigs with these now. The only thing to be aware of is that the earbuds do a great job of blocking out ambient noise--a great advantage for everything unless you don't tend to mic the drums. I never thought I'd say this, but it's hard to hear the drums. Micing them would solve the problem, but we play bars--there's no real need to mic them from a sound standpoint. So I've left one earbud out for the past two shows and that's been fine. I plan to mess around with different things to put on the buds--silicone on one, foam on the other, maybe--to see if I can get the right amount of ambient sound (drums). I still give these five stars since the problem isn't at all related to the product, but just that we don't mic our drummer. close [-]
