From Our Research Team:

Virtual analog heaven!

Arturia is a front runner in the virtual synth arena, creating spot-on software replications of classic analog synths. Arturia's Origin synth module is the first Arturia hardware synthesizer. It's a modular system that opens new creative avenues in sound design. Loaded with modules extracted from some of the best synthesizers of all time (Modular, ARP 2600, CS-80, Mini, and Prophet VS), Origin lets you combine different models from different systems together, designing new synthesizers that never previously existed. Take the oscillators from the Mini, the filters from the CS-80, and the Bode shifter from the Modular V to create your own custom synthesizer. With the Arturia Origin synthesizer module, you've got the history of analog synthesis at your fingertips.

Arturia Origin Synthesizer Module at a Glance:
  • Unparalleled sound-shaping capability
  • Professional flexibility makes this a must-have studio synth

Unparalleled sound-shaping capability
The Arturia Origin doesn't just give you the sound and vibe of classic analog synthesizers - it lets you mix and match components to create any sound you can imagine. The modular structure lets you combine oscillators, filters, envelopes, and more, all modeled from revered analog synths with stunning realism. You can also choose to play pre-configured models of the Yamaha CS-80, the Roland Jupiter-8, the ARP 2600, and others, or you can piece together your dream synthesizer one component at a time.

Professional flexibility makes this a must-have studio synth
With full MIDI control, USB connectivity, two analog inputs, 10 analog outputs, and other pro features, the Arturia Origin was made to be a studio powerhouse. Got a client that must have his favorite Jupiter-8 patch? You can create it easily with Origin. Or maybe you're remixing a song and you need the sound of a classic analog filter to add vibe to your vocals - just run your external audio tracks into the Origin and through your modules of choice. Whether you need spot-on accurate recreations of vintage synthesizers, or the flexibility provided by a truly modular synth environment, you'll love every moment of creating with the Arturia Origin.

Sweetwater Advice

Carson McClain
I have actually played this synthesizer. The screen is beautiful, the build quality is excellent. the synthesis is... WOW! The modular nature of this synth makes it unlike any other synth out there. You can actually add modules to your chain and wire them however you want right on the Origin's screen. It also has USB for easy editing and data transfer capabilities. The pads are so lush and warm and the bass is mean as can be. I love the arpeggiators on this! I made this sound exactly like a TB-303 and I was even making arpeggiators with beats in them. If Arturia has taught us just one thing it is that they know how to make some of the best soft synths on the planet. Now, they bring all of the best classic synths together in the Origin.

Great idea but too many bugs.

I really wanted this synth but I was very disapointed when I started using it. Loud pop noise when turned on and off, low output volumn, and there is a big problem with the poly circle mode making the... read more [+] Origin cut off long envelope release if the same note is played twice in a row. The idea is fantastic but way too many bugs. Even after 2 years of production this synth is not yet ready for the market. Arturia support is very slow or not at all. I am sorry to say that this one is going to be returned. What a shame. close [-]
