And, a stereo pair of line inputs make it easy to record your favorite digital piano and synthesizer, as well. The Lexicon Omega is also ruggedly built - so you can easily take it from your dorm room to your friend's place or straight out to the gig - without worry. And, to top it off, you get Cubase LE recording software and Lexicon's Pantheon Reverb plug-in, with the Lexicon Omega.Lexicon Omega 8-channel USB Audio Interface at a Glance:
An array of I/O - great for singer/songwriters or for creating band demos The Lexicon Omega USB audio interface certainly doesn't disappoint on the I/O front. For an awesome value, you get the right kind of I/O for nearly all basic home studio and mobile recording needs. With two microphone preamplifiers, you can effortlessly record you and a friend playing guitar - or record you playing guitar as you sing. There are also two stereo pairs of line inputs, which can accommodate your keyboard or synthesizer. And, on the front panel, there's a hi-Z instrument input, so you can directly plug in your guitar or bass, then use your favorite amplifier and effects modeling software to craft your tone. It's a very versatile audio interface! S/PDIF I/O adds even more versatility On top of its assault of traditional I/O, including microphone preamplifiers, line inputs, an instrument input, and two inserts, the Lexicon Omega provides S/PDIF I/O - a handy feature that's normally found only on more expensive interfaces. With it, you can grow into a S/PDIF-output-equipped tube preamplifier, to give your voice or guitar recordings that classic tube warmth - without having to purchase an entirely new audio interface. S/PDIF is also just a handy way to bring in two different channels of I/O, without unplugging your existing cable configurations. Across all of the Lexicon Omega's I/O, you can choose four sources to record at one time - and a handy selector switch system on the front panel makes it easy to quickly switch which channels you're using. Ruggedly built and extremely portable The Lexicon Omega is designed for the musician on the go - although, it's just as perfect if you want to set it up on desktop, plug in your cables, and leave it there. But, it's nice to know that you can easily pair it with your laptop and bring it to a jam session with a friend, to capture everything in high-quality detail - or just be ready to record in a genius riff, when inspiration strikes. Whether you're toting the Omega from your dorm room to a friend's down the hall, bringing it to your band's next rehearsal, hauling it out on a month-long tour, or just taking it to the garage for a jam and then back to your room - the Omega is built with convenience and portability in mind. Includes Cubase LE recording software and the Lexicon Pantheon Reverb plug-in Not only do you get a great assortment of inputs and outputs onboard the Lexicon Omega, but you also get included software - that way, you can open up the box and immediately start making music. To start, you get Cubase LE recording software - a great Mac/PC production workstation, which provides a ton of audio editing and sequencing tools. Then, bundled FREE with the Omega is Lexicon's famous Pantheon Reverb plug-in. This high-quality plug-in offers 35 factory presets, featuring six reverb types (hall, chamber, plate, room, ambience, and custom) controlled by an intuitive user interface with 16 editable parameters. As the Lexicon name is virtually synonymous with their renowned reverb algorithms, you know this reverb plug-in sounds great. Lexicon Omega 4-in/2-out USB Audio Interface Features:

For the money, it's great. I've had mine four years now. July 29, 2011 Music Background: Hobbyist Yes, like some of the reviewers here, I had one of the pots get scratchy. A quick shot of Deoxit took care of that. Not that big a deal... read more [+]. I've used it with two different laptops, Windows Vista and 7, and it's always worked fine. Lots of features and input/output options. From what I can tell (by reading other reviews) there are some quality control issues - I guess I got lucky and got a good one. close [-] Not Bad

Great price as far as a 4 channel out USB Audio interface goes. The quality is good for the price, but you may want to consider spending a bit more, for a superior product.

In the few months I have had the Omega, I have yet to be disappointed. I have done everything from record full songs to Voice Overs for a Radio Speech class. It is so easy to set, install, and operate... read more [+]. I'm not a huge fan of Cubase but for a free version it is not terrible. But the Omega will work with other programs such as Logic. I would definitely recommend this to someone who wants to record and is on a budget. close [-]

They are ecstatic with the setup and use it constantly. A very good investment for our environment and purposes. Easy to use, easy to setup, sounds excellent and is reliable. I agree that an on/off switch would be a welcome addition, we just plug it into a power strip and switch it there. close [-] Sweetwater Advice
Yuval FuchsI recently heard a live, orchestral performance recorded with two condenser mics going directly into the Omega. I was taken aback by the sonic fidelity and quality of the recording. This box is a MUST HAVE for any studio large or small, requiring easy connectivity and portability.
