Customer Reviewsfrom uk September 25, 2006 Music Background: 22 years playing live 15 years recording producing brill micif you want a great mic for gigs get this one I have bought all the big name mics you can think of and this is by far the best' Shure/Rode/Beyer/Audiotech/Senn/ eat your heart outfrom Los Angeles, CA USA June 10, 2010 Music Background: Professional Musician, Live Sound Engineer Solid MicGets the job done as far as vocals are concerned, but lets be serious... You don't see them on the road. A Beta 58 blows it away. The OM-6 just doesn't seem to have the same natural response that a top-notch live performer needs.from Canada July 14, 2009 Music Background: Singer/songwriter I prefer Shure 58A or SM58I have a rock voice with a high falsetto, but also a bright warm tone, a bright baritone singer/songwriter. You should really test these mics and hear what works for your voice. I was really disappointed with this mic.

from Northern hemisphere April 12, 2006 Audix OM6The Audix OM6 is a great mic for live work especially Vocals. Solves alot of problems with feedback. The clarity is condensor, like requires little if any eq. Destroys Shure,EV, and just about every other mic. No artificial sounding zippiness and no mud. the most natural sounding mic you can buy.

from u.k. April 12, 2006 good feedback rejectioni tried this mic out in a couple of band practice situations(rock and metal bands) as supposed to actually doing a gig. the pros of this mic are that it is very good at resisting feedback mainly because of its tight pickup pattern and the fact that although it is a hypercardiod mic it seems to have no pickup at the rear.this means that you really can put a moniter directly behind this mic, which is unheard of with any other super or hyper cardiod mic.this does offer more freedom for the vocalist to wander around without having to to worry about moniter placement and feedback. the cons were that it did have a bit of handling noise (compared to say the sennheiser 900 mics which are exceptional at this mind!) and that although i thought it gave quite a natural thick representation of the voice i definatly didnt think it was clearer than some other dynamics ive used( the clearest dynamics ive tried have been the audio-technica ae6100 and the sennheiser e935) the only other thing about this mic is that it is designed without the usual mid range presence that is in most other dynamics to give them clarity. i found this lack of mid presence in the mic (on one p.a. system) did not give the mic a very good ability to cut through the mix of the band. overall i think the mic is a good problem solver in high spl situations (and where you might want be able to EQ in some mid presence )but overall i would say there are better sounding mics for my voice ( which is very clean and melodic i.e. geoff tate-queensryche, the singer from Hammerfall, roy kahn-kamelot....etc. |
