Simple and Intuitive

I have tried a few notation programs and they have all been useful. What seperates this product is ease of setup and use, the way it sounds out of the box, and the potential for sound library expansion from ones existing Virtual Instruments Plug-ins. I cannot speak from a proffesional writing point of view (ie. someone who wants to use the program to publish music). I write music and then use Virtual Instruments to create tracks. The program allows me to write on the go, away from my DAW, using the internal sounds from the Notation Library which are very good. I can make nice sounding mixes from just the program, but I prefer the flexibility and quality of my own Virtual Instruments and DAW for final production. It is great that Notation3 will host my 32 bit virtual instruments as well since it allows me edit as I go before exporting the project into my DAW. For people who write on a staff and use virtual instruments, I highly recommend this product.

Awesome piece of software!

Great UI, easy to use, clean notation... Superb playback! This program comes with tons of London Symphony Orchestra samples that play back immediately from the score.

I can also write and play with all articulations with my VSL Special Edition and EWQL without any setup. I just put in the score marks and it plays back! I copy between staves and the right samples play RIGHT AWAY! All for $199!
