From Our Research Team:All The Best Vintage Keyboards! This 73-note keyboard delivers astounding reproductions of classic electromechanical keyboards. Back in the day, you needed a forklift to get the originals up on stage, but the Nord Electro lets you take those keyboards with you anywhere. The sounds themselves may be larger-than-life, but the Nord Electro is compact and portable, making it ideal for live performances. And behind the sounds - so authentic you'll turn a whiter shade of pale - the Nord Electro is packed with all the modern conveniences and features that you've come to expect from Nord keyboards. There are essentially two sections in the Nord Electro, an organ section and an electric piano section. The organ in Nord Electro emulates the legendary B3 perfectly, while the piano section comprises four carefully multi-sampled electric piano instruments: Rhodes Mk II Stage Piano, Wurlitzer 200A, Clavinet D6 and CP-80 Electric Grand. I have owned the Nord Electro 73 for about three months now, and couldn't be happier with it. Before buying it I tried out all the competitors. The organ sounds are full, complex and fantastic. It also looks great, and there are no issues whatsoever with build quality. Last, and certainly not least, at under 25 pounds it is light enough not to be a chore to bring to rehearsals. I recommend that anyone interested in a drawbar organ take a very serious look at this one. close [-] inSync Review

Kenny BergleA staple in the comping industry. The Electro is perfect for so many kinds of gigs! It provides super-high-quality sounds in the area of most needed keyboards. A must have! Got it in, love it!

Just as I'd said in an earlier review, I was adding a Clavia Nord Electro to my studio and live gig arsenal. Now that I actually have it in my studio, I thought I'd return and write a bit m... read more [+]ore about it.September 1, 2005 Music Background: At first, I was taken back by the small size (the Electro 61 version is what I bought). But, after playing full-sized Yamaha Motifs and Roland keyboards, any 61-note keybaord would be small. It's great if you're looking for portability! It was a small adjustment. Also, the key touch on the Electro takes a little getting used to after playing on a Korg Karma and a Roland Fantom X7, but that's just me. My main goal was to have a keyboard that replicated the B-3, the Leslie cabinet, and still have the old electric EP's from the 70's. This keyboard does just that. This is probably the easiest keyboard to use of any keyboard I've played. The layout is simple and straightforward - perfect for a gigging musician. I will say, though, that the Roland VR-760 is also a great organ-keyboard for the money, and it's obvious that Roland now has something to compete with the Electro. If you bought either the Roland or the Clavia, I don't think you'd be disappointed, as both have great piano and organ sounds, with the Roland having basic synth sounds, as well. The Clavia Electro is simply a great keyboard to have - period. The sounds are excellent, and the Leslie simulator is near perfect. The effects section is easy to use and apply, and the programming is simple. All the sounds are clean and precise, and Clavia did a good job of sticking to what they started out to accomplish - presenting a keyboard that specializes in organ and classic ep's. Now, if I can just get over being insecure for hauling in such a small keyboard... close [-] Awesome Organs...

I've done a few gigs with a local groove keyboardist, and he owned one of these babies. If for nothing else, I'm considering buying one of these just for the organ sounds. I'm building my home studio, and I gig live a good bit, and I'm trying really hard to keep my check book under control. If you want an awesome organ-based keybaord with incredible Leslie simulation, check one of these out. close [-]
