I bought this amp knowing that I would love it though, and it surpassed my expectations. Lots of power and versatility in a small, easy to carry package. It's a two channel, but what you really get is three. The bright channel provides great, warm sounds and if you flip the thick switch, you can get some really cool bluesey tones. The girth channel can handle most of your rock needs. Maybe not enough gain if you're in a Pantera tribute band, but that's not an issue for me. The effects loop and foot switch (not included) are a big plus for live gigs. Over all it's a solid performing head at a great price. close [-]

However, when I saw the 50 watt version, I had to try it. The "Girth" channel is capable of reproducing classic rock tones reminiscent of Marshall meets boutique. The low end definition is huge. The clean channel is incredible too with great Vox chime. The only fault I've found is that I'm not sure what was going through the minds of the tech designers when they decided to bypass the EQ for a gain boost in "Thick" mode - not a good decision. However, the Girth channel more than makes up for it with lots of variations and excellent tones. The size (under 20" wide) and weight are convenient, but the looks and sound are priceless. You won't go wrong at this price. close [-]

Now Vox creates the 50 watt version with an FX loop, which wasn't on the original version. The NT 50 has 2 channels and can be switched between the two with an optional footswitch. This amp roars. It has a master tone cut, like the AC15 and AC30 and It is smaller and lighter than most amp heads. Vox really listed to their loyal customers and delivered a winner. The controls for each channel are extensive, but simple to set. It takes pedal well even without using the FX loop.
