Customer Reviewsfrom Montverde, FL January 9, 2012 Music Background: Lifelong Musician You need this GuitarAny fan of acoustic guitar will love this guitar. The harmonies it opens up just by playing the same things you'd play on a standard tuned guitar are beautiful, interesting and inspiring. Aside from the additional depth this guitar will give your recordings, it offers great electronics, and a plek'd compound radius I wish I had on every one of my electrics. The guitar plays flawlessly. Not just a gushing review. this guitar REALLY plays flawlessly. As an owner of a much more expensive Martin D42, I'm floored that Wechter can put an instrument of this quality up for sale for a mere $629. THAT - is truly unbelievable. In terms of quality and enjoyment per dollar spent this guitar is at the top of the listfrom FL USA June 7, 2011 Music Background: Cantor/Pro Musician Wechter Guitar Nashville-tuned Cutaway - you have to get this guitarI am impressed - just arrived today and I am still in awe. I love the Nashville tuning. I am a Cantor in a large Synagogue and utilize the guitar. The sound of this instrument will add an amazing dimension to my music. The guitar is comfortable, and the neck is smooth. What can I say, after tuning her up I was able to pretty much play out of the box. Derek and Brian you are the best! I had to wait for this guitar to come in, and it was definitely worth the wait. The packing was great - double boxed and in a very cool looking case. I can-not wait to play her in front of an audience. I have a 12-string also and several guitars (over 40 actually), but none are like this. Definitely worthy the price and wait if out of stock. I recommend it highly!!!!from Dallas Texas February 2, 2011 Music Background: Hobbyist Brings Angel Singing To My Fingertips!!!The previous reviews state it well...gives my fingerpicking style an "angel hair" effect that opens up possibilities that I have not experienced in over thirty years of playing!Thank goodness it comes with a tuner embedded...the "phase shift" sound between the G and B string are different to the ear tuned normal guitar. I recommend this guitar without reservations!!! from Gothenburg, Ne. November 3, 2010 Music Background: Singer-Songwriter- "The Lost Irish Souls" Has the sound of a 12 string mixed with a mandolinIf you haven't figured out yet that these guy's know there stuff, then trust them...they do. I work with Marcos Sanchez and others.....awesome to say the least. We discussed my needs for the Wechter Nashville. I was told it will do everything and more....again...this is true it does. My wife and I colloborate ideas for "The Lost Irish Souls" band. This guitar is really too fun to put down. You can play this continually for 5-6 hours at a sitting without any strain/pain. The nato neck is refined and really comfortable. I find this to really work well with two other guitar models which are the Taylor (pretty much any of them) and or the Wechter Jumbo Auditorium. Now that is a real match and the play is so similar. To anyone who has been waiting in the wings for one of these....grab em...you will not be sorry......Irish.from Sioux Falls, SD August 12, 2010 Music Background: Pro Musician Simply Amazing!I ordered the Wechter Nashville Special Elite Cutaway knowing well the quality that Wechter produces. When it arrived, double boxed and well padded, I was immediately taken by the excellent finish and attention to detail. Frets were perfectly finished (via PlekPro) and set up was spot on. This is a smaller body guitar, akin to a parlor-size instrument, and it fit me perfectly. The case that comes with the guitar is aesthetically pleasing and very sturdy. Overall, my first impression was something like "...Wow!"I proceeded to tune it up and started to play. The action was perfect for fingerpicking and strumming, and I played it for 2.5 hours before setting it down. One of the reasons I purchased the instrument was to use it with my band. I did considerable research on Nashville tuning, and felt strongly that the guitar would add an interesting dimension to our sound. It has, however it has become my primary acoustic guitar for an entirely different reason: I am writing songs again because of it. Nashville tuning raises the low E-G strings a full octave, leaving the high B and E at standard pitch. The chord voicing is very different...some have described it as a "sparkle" or "shimmer" and I would agree. Because this guitar is specially designed for Nashville tuning, there are no intonation issues as you work your way up the neck. The chords seem more alive and vibrant, and this along with the different voicing has opened up new melodies and ideas that I didn't know I had in me. As a younger man I often wrote a new song every day...then graduate school, job, and three kids later I found I haven't written in years. This guitar has inspired something inside me to compose again, and that alone is just plain worth the price of admission. I completely and without reservation endorse this guitar. Play, fit and finish are expertly done. The Fishman Presys+ electronics are great and the guitar sounds excellent acoustically and plugged in. I like the XLR and 1/4" plug-ins, and the onboard tuner and EQ is a real plus too. Forget that it comes from China. The magic happens in the mind of Abe Wechter and his luthiers when they design the instrument, and again when it arrives in the states for Plek and setup. Sweetwater and my rep Dave Brow have never let me down. My orders are always handled quickly and with care, and I appreciate that a lot. I have a feeling this will be a cherished guitar for many years. Thanks Wechter and Sweetwater/Dave...another home run! from The Beautiful High Desert of the Antelope Valley, California! August 2, 2010 Music Background: Songwriter, professional guitarist, Engineer etc. Oh my!It arrived last Friday as scheduled. It was double boxed (thanks, sweetwater). When I opened the case (which is even more classy than my Taylor 314 case) I was stunned - I just looked at that itty-bitty beauty for a minute or two before I could bring myself to pick it up. It is sooooooo sweet (must be because of sweetwater) - it plays (after adjusting the neck relief) flawlessly - intonation (thank you Abe Wechter for the PLEKing AND, most importantly, for INVENTING this new instrument) is perfect. The tone, the action, the feel, the appointments, the Fishman are startlingly professional. Sounds beautiful amped. This guitar is a NEW type of instrument, I consider it as important as when the saxophone was invented. When I fingerpick songs I've written on my Taylor, it makes them sound totally different due to the Nashville tuning and small gauge strings. I had to really watch my hands to make sure I was playing exactly the same patterns as on my Taylor 314 because it sounds COMPLETELY different. It sounds SO different that, at first, it mentally and sonically made me screw up my picking. It tricks your ears into a brand new type of expression. It has already led me to write some wonderful Blues/ragtime melodies and even jigs and reels (which would never sound as sprightly played on a regular acoustic). It has surprised and stunned me. It has led me to creations. What MORE could I possibly ask for? from Saltillo ms October 18, 2011 Music Background: Music minister Excellent qualityGreat craftmanship, good woods used. The sound really adds to a bands depth. Easy to play and tune. from NC August 14, 2011 Music Background: Pro Musician, Project Studio owner, Songwriter. Once you hear it, your hooked!!I have owned this guitar for several months now and continue to find ways to use it to give recordings some extra magic and sparkle. The guitar has great playability and intonation, even when using a capo to elicit mandolin-like upper register goodness. The design and size is perfect for it's intended uses and the cedar top resonates beautifully. This guitar is great to pull out when playing in a group of acoustic guitars, as it floats above the others and help balance out the sound.Once you play and hear this thing you will be hooked, I sure was!!! BIG Thank You to Greg Savino and all the Sweetwater team members for VERY qiuckly providing a replacement for my first guitar, which had a cosmetic issue. The cosmetic issue is only reason this guitar did not get 5 stars.
