When I saw fender was offering a complete version of their legendary mustang bass I was a bit shocked. While the mustang guitar has long been favored by small handed artists such as Liz Phair. The m... read more [+]ustang bass was often the most natural fit for many of those out there who have smaller hands. Not only did it feel great, it had a unique punch that fit well with punk and pop. The thing is fender tends to make the bass off and on, which has made it a hard piece to find even though it is probably one of the best short scale basses ever made.December 22, 2011 Music Background: semi-pro musician and sound engineer Now a Mustang Bass has become affordable with it becoming a part of the vintage modified line, and yes this is worth it if not more. Make no mistake this is a real mustang, string through body and all. The feel and balance is dead on. If this had a fender nameplate and you told me it was the new MIM, I would have believed it. It is damn beautiful. If you need that extra short scale bass, or have small hands this bass is for you. This is the best short scale entry level bass on the market as of now. Well worth the sub $300 price tag (and sound like it is worth $200-$300 more). Well deserving of the mustang name plate. High quality, good sound and great play-ability. close [-] Also popular
