A Portable Audio Workhorse! The Professional M6 is a notebook designed for serious music production. It features an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz CPU, a 200GB 7200 rpm hard drive, 2GB of DDR2-667 RAM, a 15.4" WXGA wide angle, non-glare screen that gives you visibility even at off-axis points of view. The M6 comes with a recovery utility that stores the system factory settings outside of Windows XP in a host-protected area of the hard drive. This allows you to restore the M6 to the factory even if the hard drive has been accidentally re-formatted. The M6 has 10/100 LAN to improve workflow and play projects stored on other computers via Ethernet; built in 8X DVD+/-RW burner for archiving and much more. Intel Core 2 Duo CPU The Professional M6 is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU running on an 800 MHz front-side-bus architecture. Additionally, it features PCI Express x16 graphics ports and PCI Express x1 I/O ports, next generation Serial ATA, and Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connectivity. The 667MHz front side bus and support for DDR2 667MHz RAM makes this as fast, flexible and powerful as server towers of just a couple years ago. The M6 is built on a foundation that is technologically state-of-the-art. 2GB Crucial DDR2 667 RAM The Professional M6 is equipped with 2GB of dual-channel DDR2 667 MHz RAM. The RAM size and speed are critical to the smooth operation of your music computer. The RAM speed can be a bottleneck even on systems with high CPU clock speeds. Selecting DDR2 667MHz means that on this laptop, you won't be waiting on the RAM. An 8MB cache buffer, 7200-RPM spin speed, 900G shock tolerance and Seagate's QuietStep technology makes this drive fast, durable and quiet. The Serial ATA interface allows 1.5Gb/s interface speed for blazing fast transfers. The 7200-RPM speed delivers blazing performance while maintaining low power consumption. Not only does it whip through CD authoring tasks, it also allows for backups of your audio projects to dual-layer DVD discs. This optical drive records data up to 4.7GB per side on DVD media and writes in all kinds of formats: DVD+R/+RW, DVD-R/-RW, DVD-RAM and CD-R/-RW. The Super-Multi also reads most DVD and CD formats, including DVD+R/+RW. This adds up to one versatile drive suitable for any application.
