Customer Reviewsfrom Orlando, FL January 28, 2012Music Background: Recording engineer, Live multitrack engineer Wide imageOk, I have heard some of the best of the best near field monitors in the industry and I have to say that these made my ears bleed of excitement. When i first saw these at the AES convention at NY i was skeptical, but one of my friends told me to go sit down and take a listen to them. After about 5 min of listening to these speakers in a noisy convention center, i was sold. The flat frequency response brings out sound that you never knew existed in your music. I have listened to metel, classical, electric, and everything in between and these work for all taste. I also enjoy the external amp idea. It allows Chris (the designer) to put higher quality parts in his amps and not worry about space behind the speaker, and it makes the main speaker smaller and easier to place on any desk surface. I was listening to these speakers at a level i though was semi loud, only to find out that it was only about 86 DB when it sounded more like 93+. I am assuming that has to do with the fact of the flat frequency response and how our ears react to specific ranges of sound. I would recommend these speakers to anyone who is interested on actually hearing what their music sounds like. from Santa Barbara & Hawaii January 27, 2012Music Background: Producer, Engineer, Musician WOW , WOW and more WOWFinally a real pro sound for any studio, from home to professional. Chris Pelonis has brought remarkable technology to market! The innovative Rhombus shape of these little 42's make it versatile for getting the mix to your ears! The sound that comes out of these monitors is EXCELLENT...From lows to highs it's amazing! Highly recommend this gear!from United States January 7, 2012Music Background: Pro Producer/Engineer Great mid focusI love these little speakers. My main tracking speakers are Dynaudio's which I like but I was always struggling with the midrange. I thnk these are the perfect compliment and show all the mistakes I couldn't seem to hear on the Dyn's.from NYC November 8, 2011Music Background: Recording engineer/Producer Wowness!Every once in awhile something comes along that is elegant in design and simplicity that also delivers the goods. Such is the Model 42 Monitor Pair. I first heard these at AES NY on that noisy covention center trade show floor and they caught my ear. They have since blown me away. They truly are one of the best small monitor systems on the market. Set up was a snap the only negative was the software install required me to reload the driver after a system restore but then that worked flawlessly as well. I use them with my DAW set up but have already thought of other uses. Build quality also excellent and connectors of great quality. Pinch me I must be dreaming value. Get em' you will not be sorry.from Riverbank Ca August 30, 2011Music Background: Producer/Engineer Pelonis Model 42These are by far some of the most fun and exiting monitors that I have mixed on. Every recording that I listen to seems to reveal something that I haven't noticed before. the software is sweet and very easy to get up and running. The EQ is really cool but I did not feel the need for it . These sound sound amazing as is. The one thing that is really cool is the ability to mute each speaker or both at the same time. Having a lot of fun listening to the production chops on the old Hendrix Zep albums. This is a great deal. Stay thirsty my friends.Kevin Sharar sonicinfluencerecording.com from Baltimore, MD USA September 23, 2011Music Background: Recording Engineer Solid second set of monitorsThese little guys are great! My only real knock on them is that I wish they were louder. However, in my studio I have several monitors that I rely on when I'm mixing and these are a great addition. The detail and imaging is exceptional and you can listen to them for long periods without fatigue. |
