Customer Reviewsfrom February 16, 2012 im backI used to own protools ...I lost it....now I got it back .......I love itfrom Pekin, IL September 29, 2011Music Background: Hobbyist, church musician, guitarist Nice portable systemFirst of all, for the money, you won't do much better. A full Pro Tools setup and an interface with two mic pres. The software is great. I have been on PT since version 7.4 and I can't imagine using anything else. 9 adds some nice features, though unfortunately alot of it is just catching up with the competition (such as delay compensation). Still, it's super-easy software to use (though I'm sure other DAWs are too) and it comes with pretty much everything you need in the box - no need to blow alot of money on extra plugins and instruments unless you want something pro level. The interface is pretty good. I noticed that with a couple of (relatively inexpensive) condenser mics I get a fair amount of hiss unless I keep the gain below 50%. Trying to mic a choir and piano from 15" above, this isn't the interface for that. I'll bust out my Mbox 2 for that as the pres are better than the MobilePre. Sounds great with dynamic mics for voice-overs, which is what I'll mainly do with the interface at home. The dedicated line-in on the back is great for my Korg keyboard to be plugged in all the time, too. And the mic pre inputs with XLR are combination plugs for DI with my guitar, which was also important. For what I really need it for, this is plenty. I jumped on this because of an Avid promotion that goes until the end of the year, and I got Strike, Velvet, and Eleven LE for free - for that reason alone you should pick up this bundle. Sweetwater took great care of me and I really recommend them.
