July 19, 2011 Music Background: The most enlightening book I've ever read!
by Chris Clough from Western MA
This book is absolutely outstanding. Both the way it was written and the sheer volume of imformation it contains make it a real pleasure to read. Many of the top mixing engineers of the world are inte... read more [+]rviewed on their various mixing techniques and how they each bring something special to every song they mix. Each engineer also has a dedicated chapter, so you really get a fairly in-depth glimpse of how they work their magic. I've read soooo many books on engineering techniques, but I learned more useful information from this book than all of the others combined. After all, these guy's mixing skills certainly speak for themselves. The engineers who were interviewed include Allen Sides, George Massenberg, John X and many more. The very best of the best. I gaurantee your mixes will get better after reding this book. Mine most certainly have! I first read the book 3 years ago and I still re-visit it from time to time. close [-]
August 13, 2010 Music Background: Recording Engineer/Studio Owner Good, but not the best
by Simon Lindskog from SWEDEN

But it is filled with great tips and tricks and a complete chart for calculating delaytimes w... read more [+]ich is helpful if you don't want to get distracted by that bit when mixing. I recommend this book but I also strongly recommend that you don't rely entirely on this one; this is just one point of view. Read others on the same topic, there are quite a few, and you'll get more and more tools to work with. close [-]
