16-input mixer with analog and digital outputs It's easy to configure the perfect monitor mix setup with the Hear Technologies Mix Back. Assign any of the 16 inputs to one of 12 mono outputs and two stereo mix outputs to route signal to individual monitor stations. In addition, the Mix Back includes two ADAT optical outputs for digital connections, plus two HearBus outs for connection to other Hear Technologies gear. High-quality mic/line inputs with inserts, highpass filter and 4-band EQ The Mix Back's input section features 16 high-quality mic/line inputs (with passive splitters). Each input features a channel insert, a signal/clip LED, a 100Hz highpass filter, and an independent gain control. In addition, the Mix Back input channels each have 4-band EQ with separate controls for sweep and boost/cut on the mid bands. Master section The Mix Back master section offers two stereo and 12 mono TRS outputs with switch-selectable meter/headphone monitoring. Two stereo TRS balanced effect returns are augmented by switch-assignable FX1/FX2 returns to the 12 mono masters. A stereo aux return with level controls can be routed to both stereo busses - great for a FOH mix or the studio "two mix." The Mix Back's talkback mic preamp is assignable to stereo masters 1 & 2, mono outputs 1-12, and the balanced Intercom/slate output. A 16-button talkback remote connects using standard Cat 5e cable. In addition, the Mix Back provides 16 channels of ADAT and HearBus output. Hear Technologies Mix Back Monitor Mixer Features:

I have to say, I havent been using this very long, BUT the support is outstanding! We purchased ours 2nd hand, and it had some problems (probably due to neglect). They are very nice guys!June 17, 2010 Music Background: church sound engineer and musician There seems to be quite a bit of flexability, with the option of using it as a stand alone system, or with the addition of the hear back system, the adat outputs, individual ground lifts and phantom power selection on each channel. There are also FX sends, as well as the ability to mix stereo master mixes for house and/or the baseline "perfect mix" for the monitor system. Multiple units can be cascaded for expansion if additional channels are needed, and the 12 output matrix should be enough to handle as many monitor mixes as you would ever need. The EQ section goes a little further than most consoles do with sweepable british eq for both the upper and lower mids. There are also connections to allow you to tack on a very sophesticated talk back system. The markings on the console glow in the dark, and a UV light is also included. Overall, I am very impressed, and although this is not the most expensive option for a dedicated monitor mixer, it is by far, the most flexible, and has features which you wont find on some of the more expensive units. When looking at all the available options for a small format monitor mixer, this is the BEST VALUE out there. close [-] Hear Technologies

We got our "Mix Back" from Keith Schreiber and can't say enough great things about this product, Keith or the staff at Sweetwater.July 14, 2006 Music Background: Pro Musician with over 20 years of national and international touring The "Mix Back" has more headroom than we will ever need, with no... read more [+] noise and built like a tank. The entire back of the unit is covered with more inputs and outputs to allow me to use it in any enviorment. we also got the "Hear Back" personal monitor system and the two work together like they were made for each other, which they were. One thing we weren't expecting is instead of a regular bnc lamp for the mixer it came with a very cool UV lamp which makes all the front panel controls glow in the dark. It makes it very easy to see on a dark stage. If your ready to leave the the realm of the wannabe's check out "in ear monitors" with the "Mix Back" as the foundation of your monitor system.
