Robert, Chester, VA Reviewsbased on 2 reviewsWhat A Steal Of A Deal!!!
by Kev Henderson from Pevely, Mo.
I am mainly a lead guitarist but needed a bass for my studio. Other basses mainly active ones were not getting the job done. I needed something that would not every now and then crackle while tracking... read more [+] and this with passive pickups solved the issue. even had high dollar basses sound horrible but then studio work is much different than live. As a songwriter that deals with the folks down in Nashville. i need clean tracks to work with. I do leave the action "slightly higher" than nessesary to keep from fret buzz with round wounds..a fret dressing and some half rounds will fix that issue down the road. i am very pleased and for the price you can't beat it. It woke up the bass tracks tremendously. It is a handsome looking instrument as well. There are other basses out there for much more that are not this good in my opinion...being a FENDER guy mostly tele's n strats ...well done Peavey and thanks to Dan at Sweetwater for the excellent service as usual!!! close [-]

I already own the Millennium 4 BXP, Active version, so when I had the chance to buy this one reasonably I jumped on it. It was even better than I expected! The tone on this is awesome, espically with ... read more [+]both pickups wide open. The sustain is unbelievable (you'll get good at muting). My only complaint with my 4 string was having to change out two batteries, but since this is a passive bass that's not a concern. These basses are very well balanced (no neck diving), tough (mine has to stay locked in a dark vehicle all day before practice and stays right in tune), nice to look at, light enough to be wearable at a 4 hour gig. June 14, 2007 Music Background: Musician The only cons I have found are when you try to tune to Eb or D tuning, the tuner for the low string is too close to the neck and the low string ends up feeling loose and sloppy. In standard tuning there's no problems. The only modification I plan on doing to this is to change out the nut (comes plastic), but that's just personal taste. I've played 600-800 dollar basses that didn't have the balance and tone of this one! My bass teacher , who has been playing for 30+ years, is seriously considering buying one of these after playing mine :). close [-] Also popular
