great book to add to the library

this book really goes into detail if you are trying to create an orchestra feel in your music or score. it teaches you what instruments to use to set different moods, and how to create the most realistic feel with the library you are using. i learned alot from this book. and if your unfamiliar with the different types of libraries out there, it shows you the different kinds of products that are on the market that pros use.

Midi Orchestration text excellent!

This is an excellent tool for getting an overall view of the art of writing for the midi orchestra. This is no whimy paperback. It's a beautifully bound expose of grand porportion.

The author takes pains in illuminating "why" certain techniques sound best and others clunky. Well worth the money.
